There have been cases of demonic possession, usually as a result of black magic and/or the practice of Satanism.

my question isn’t aimed at proving that Jews did this or that. My question is general and i believe i made this clear while talking to Ralph .

In 1972 I purposely influenced the World Series by cutting off the head of a chicken and flatuating at exactly 3 minutes before midnite while reciting Psalm 22.

Has anyone else heard of this ritual or seen anything about it on youtube?

Here’s a jewish superstition that I am partial too. Usually when people discuss the possiblity of Jews using black magic, it ends up with Jews dying.

Ok. I’ll rephrase. Do you really believe that reacting to an allegation that three rabbis hammered liver in order to kill the president of Egypt with jokes is strange?

Any idea that a bit of mumbo-jumbo can produce physical results - not psychological results (people are only too suggestive) - went the way of the alchemists.

Now, of course, people believe in ghosts, ghouls, the Jewish World Conspiracy, vampires, that mad monks are guarding secrets about Jesus descendants, werewolves and so on. Since none of it is refutable (it being the way of things with the existential), it’s very fertile ground - and you’re welcome to it.

no you misunderstood me; i do not know what is usually done in black magic…it could well be smashing a lettuce…my question is beyond what is said in the article and goes to questioning the effect of black magic per se, regardless of the means used, and which i ignore. After all, these are supposed to be symbolic means for evil intervention, and the effect is what am questioning.

what i understand is that the mumbo-jumbo is a means, but the beef of the matter is the intervention of evil.

If you do not believe in evil, that’d be another subject…but to those who do, is there any evidence or lack of of whether evil can affect with physical results?
 
Is it possible for evil spirits to affect a physical ill upon a person? Yes.

Is it common? No.

Can one person force an demon to harm another human? I doubt it.

Ok. I think then I need to be clear. There’s nothing that I am aware of in any form of Judaism that would support the allegations raised in the arabic link of the OP.

And no rabbi, just as no priest, would use “black magic” to accomplish anything.
