Ralph, I’m going to show you how dangerous it is to use Bible tracts. If you go one more sentence in Ephesians: you find that we are created for good works.

Sure we are saved by faith and we demonstrate that Faith through Baptism, by which your sins are foregiven and you become a member of the Body of Christ, The Catholic church. Want scriptural proof? What did Peter tell the people to do at Pentacost?
Peter said “Repent and be baptised” Right on my friend, what came first, “REPENT” and then baptism. You finally got it right PTL. Ralph

AND I CANT NOT STRESS ENOUGH, we are not saved by Faith! No amount of Faith saves you, WE are saved by GRACE through Faith!

You can have all the faith you want and when you get to heaven Christ will answer, “I never knew you!”

You Must have Grace, you must have faith, and you must have works! If you work with out Grace and faith you are He.ll Bound. If you just have faith then you He.ll Bound too, because Faith without works is .

The Grace and of Christ is the Only thing that Saves, and you MUST Be Baptized, because Jesus commanded it. IF you don’t feel you have to be Baptized you are blatant Disobedience to God’s word. IT is also the New Sign of the Covenant… I doubt anyone knows what the Oath even means and what the Old Covenant has to do with the New and what that Old Oath means and how it Impacts the new.

Children are Baptized by the Faith and Grace of the Parents, that they are to raise them in the way they should go.

hehehe … there you go re-creating scripture.
It doesn’t say ‘repent then be baptized’.
You changed that.

Holy scripture clearly states that baptism saves you.

Ralph, You right here are a prime example of Protestants taking Scripture out of Context. Rom 14:10 is Paul talking about Believers Judging each other, it says “Why, then does one of you make himself Judge over his brother, and why does another among you despise his brother? All of us will have to stand in front of the Judgment- seat of God:” Then 11 goes on to say, “As Scripture says, ‘by my own life’ says the lord 'Every knee shall bow, and every tounge shall give glory to God.” Paul is saying, Be careful of Judging others because will all stand before God. Has nothing to do with saying that there is two thrones. The only thing that indicates that there are more thrones is with the elders in Rev. But, they are not equal with God. There is only One Throne… It belongs to God and there is only One Judgment, not 1,2,3,4,5, but one.

Also it is not for the Unsaved, it is for every one, Because Rev chapter 20 goes on to say that the De.ad of the Earth shall be judged, then the sea shall give up her De.ad to be judged and then all who are alive on earth shall be judged, then De.ath and Hades shall be cast into the Fiery pit, then all of those who’s name is not int he lamb’s book of life are cast in too. you really Should read all of the Chapter not just a tiny part and pull it out and twist it to fit you.
The dead my friend are the UNSAVED. Ralph

The my friend are the UNSAVED. Ralph
Ok I will play your little game, Chapter and Verse where it says the de.ad are the Unsaved? Every one dies, Only Two gaurentees in this world, De.ath and Taxes…Also were does it say also that You will be judged any different then the Da.mned. You are a da.mned sinner like every one else! The bible does say we will have to give account everything Da.mned or covered by the Blo.od …

And yes i did just Join the Church this Weekend and i am never looking back, I am from a Baptist Background, turned None-Denom, turned Catholic, the only True Church of Christ!

Welcome !!!

Any chance you’ve written out a conversion story?
I learn so much about my own faith by reading the journeys of others.

I’m also curious about your use of a ‘.’ in the middle of some words like de.ath, da.mned, et cetera. Why?

Cheers!

Well for some reason, when I write words like that they are automatically removed, like they are evil or something, by the Forum. If i put the “.” in the middle they don’t get taken out, Maybe i have an option on that removes them, I don’t know!

…more likely I’m too old and never watched that show. (knew better, LOL)😃

Thanks for telling me what ( PTL ) Praise the Lord is though, I guess I ought to have known better about that too, I do indeed Praise HIM. (I just don’t get all the abbreviations that people use on here.)
Don’t fret it - It’s alphabet soup out there in evangelical TV land and in most every community now there are so many Protestant options for “abbreviated” Christianity that one can pick-n-choose anything they want and find a flavor that suits them. What still amazes me is why any Protestant still bothers to go to church though? Why listen to a minister or preacher when one can just stay home, read their own bibles and save the 10% tithing on the do-it-yourself salvation model.

The very nice thing about the Catholic Church is everywhere one goes all around the globe there is only one true apostolic teaching that does not change its teaching from location to location and social-class to social-glass. And that kind of oneness and unity of belief is exactly what we would expect for one God and one apostolic teaching that Jesus established on the cornerstone of Himself and the bedrock of Peter. 👍

AMEN to that, my husband and I have traveled all over the United States and my husband has traveled all over the world and we’ve never had a problem finding a Catholic Church anywhere we went. Whenever we have watched a Mass on t.v. it was in addition to going or because one of us was actually sick and couldn’t make it (which has been like maybe twice in our lives.) Whoever thinks (and I know you don’t) that the Catholic Church is dying out is just not able to see what is going on out there in the world. He has risen indeed!!!

That is what it said.It was not chenged. Ralph

I’m still waiting for you to tell us where the Bible says we are “covered”. What a waste of time.

No it doesn’t it says in acts 2:37-41 “repent AND be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins”

And, then to different conjunctions, One mean as well and one meaning afterward or in Succession. Back in the bible days, people repented and were baptized right away or at the same time as repentance. it was not years after. The disciples also did not consider someone saved until they were baptized.

There truly is a big difference between “Repent and be baptized” and “Repent then be baptized” acts says “And” and the bible says be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, not as washing with water but as cleansing the soul.

My Roman catholic bible says “REPENT AND BE BAPTISED”, it looks like pretty clear english to me. Repent first----then baptism. Why don’t you give up and stop trying to twist this statement. Ralph

,and in Acts 3:19 it says this:
Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away.

By the way, welcome home!!🙂

Here is a short but true version on how to be saved: By grace are you saved through faith: Read Eph 2:8,9. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. NOT by baptism. Ralph
Like confession-- then why did Jesus ask to be baptized? if He was not sanctifying baptism through His own baptism-- what was it for?

You make all these infallible statements but yet you can not explain them to me at all-- what is up with that?

No on is denying what it says, they are just telling you the way you said it is NOT what it says, otherwise, you don’t believe in infant Baptism which Acts also shows us …by whole households being Baptized together…or do you deny that?
