So after a girl gets raped she is taken to the hospital and a routine procedure is done to care for her as a rape victim. One of the things they do is give her the morning after pill. The morning after pill, for those of you who aren’t familiar, prevents a pregnancy from happening for up to 72 hrs after intercourse. It works by preventing ovulation and changing the mucous, ultimately preventing the sperm from reaching the egg.
I understand that contraception (unless it’s NFP) is currently against the Church because they say it takes away the unitive and procreative aspect of sex between 2 married people. However, if a girl is raped, that logic doesn’t apply… obviously. So, is it still wrong to take the morning after pill if you get raped??
