So screw Tampa eh. Bet the fans are overjoyed. Just move to Montreal.

I believe the NBA tried this once with Omaha and Kansas City. Worked for three years before they moved to Sacramento.

So what does this mean? That they owners are considering moving back to Montreal and are testing the waters?

THEY wouldn’t be moving back. The original Expos played some games in Puerto Rico before moving to Washington where they became the Nationals.

This is never going to happen. Tampa Bay should never of had a baseball team to begin with and it has never been a very good sports town. They’re not going to split games and no city is going to foot the cost of a stadium for a part time team especially in 2 different locations. Not to mention it will kill the fan base in tampa that is already only half intrested in the team. This is a stupid idea and one that I doubt is going to see the light of day. If montry all can support a team, then you can consider moving there. Otherwise leave it in tampa and live with the fact that that town should never of had a baseball team to begin with.

FWIW, originally the Chicago White Sox were to move into that stadium in Florida before the governor of Illinois built the White Sox a new stadium in Chicago.

Given stadium costs, there is no way either city is going to build for the Tampreal Rays. Tropicana Field is one of the biggest dumps in baseball and they have the Rays full-time. If they won’t do something now, imagine how little they will do if the Rays are a part-time Canadian team.

It’s a particularly dumb mistake for me to make because I’m a native Washingtonian. I am blaming extreme fatigue.

That is really interesting. I remember when the Kings were here. I was a young one then. I don’t, and never have, followed basketball so I don’t remember that. I will look it up and do some reading.

The players hated playing in Canada. Each trip across the boarder was a nightmare and taxes were a mess.

At least that is clever!

Should have kept them as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Much better name.
