Hello,
I am sponsoring someone who will be received into the Church this Easter. With the coronavirus and the expectation that public masses will be cancelled here in the UK, she is worried that if this is cancelled this year, she’ll have to wait another year to join the Church. I plan on asking Fr when I next see him (hopefully tomorrow).
My question is: can catechumens be baptised and be received into the church at a time other than the Easter vigil? Right now especially, she is very anxious to be baptised and received and she doesn’t want to wait another year.
Thank you and God bless you.
