Hi,
My oldest son is going through the process of First Communion/Confirmation. This is his second year in RE. Unfortunately, we’re (my husband and I) are learning right along with him as we are currently involved in RCIA/conversion. I was brought up Lutheran–husband did not have a particular religion to speak of (long story).
At any rate, one thing suggested as part of his learning experience was to make a home altar. I told my son I thought it would be a great reminder to everyone (especially me) that we need to behave and remember our duty to God throughout the day.
To that end, we picked out a crucifix and added it to some prayer cards/candles. I’m not sure if I’ve done any of it right or if there is a particularly right way.
Here is a picture of what we came up with:
I welcome any thoughts of people more knowledgeable than myself in the matter.
Thanks in advance!
God bless
