Have you read Joseph Pearce’s works in that area? (Bilbo’s Journey; Tolkien: Man and Myth). He’s one of my very favorite Catholic authors because he takes literature so seriously. It warms the heart of a librarian like myself. 😃

At the moment I’m trying to determine my next read. Perhaps I should finish Eliot’s “Murder in the Cathedral”, or start on Pearce’s small is still beautiful: economics as if families mattered. I need something inspiring…I just came off a series of biology reads and found the reductionism a bit soul-deadening.
Yes, I have 😃 Also read Frodo’s Journey 😉

I found a good remedy for force-fed reductionism was Fulton Sheen’s videos, particularly on psychology and science (lot on YouTube). His jokes always put a smile on my face 👍

It warms the heart of a librarian like myself. :D.
I work in a library too, although I’m not an actual librarian.🙂 What I love most is coming home at night with a book I ran across while shelving. I’m right there, surrounded by what I’m most tempted by! I’m really lapping up Biblical fiction. Now I’m on “Michal” by Jill Eileen Smith

Right now, I’m reading all of the Star Wars novels I own. I started back in August with Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void and now, I’m on Tales of the Empire.

Witness to Integrity: The Crisis of the Immaculate Heart Community of California, by Anita M. Caspary

Had a gift card for Barnes and Noble and just received 4 books: I wont report back here for a lifetime 🙂

1)Batting by FC Lane
2)Priority of Christ:Toward a Postliberal Catholicism by Bishop Robert Barron
3)Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwig Ott
4)Introduction to the Science of Mental Health by Fr.Chad Ripperger
