I’m getting through Hayduke Lives!, though at this point it’s a “Well, I’m halfway through, might as well finish the thing” journey. I enjoyed the original novel, The Monkey Wrench Gang, but this one so far is nothing but characters thinking about having sex with the other characters. There’s a little landscape description (The main reason to read Abbey, that and his colorful tirades against the crony corporate state) , but mostly the text is about eying body parts.

I think I’m going to return to Abbey’s nonfiction. Besides, he always kills the best character at the end of his novels.

Celtic: The Early Years, by Brendan Sweeney, about the formation of Celtic Football Club in Glasgow, Scotland, founded by Brother Walfrid, an Irish born priest of the Marist Order.

Yikes, I am also rereading books from a few years ago. Can’t get new fixes fast enough!
Now am reading the delightful “Innocents Abroad” by Mark Twain, imagining myself living 150 years ago.
 
Just finished Heretics and Heroes, a history of the Ren-Ref period. Not impressed.

Now I’m ‘relaxing’ with Hidden Order by Brad Thor, a thriller involving…the Fed.
 
Got some Pierre Guyotat books. Working my way through Tomb for 500,000 Soldiers.

A prequel novel to the upcoming movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
 
Last Retreat by St. Elizabeth of the Trinity.
At the moment though, I am looking for a nice fiction book. My local library should help with that.
