The Essential Writings of Christian Mysticism edited and with an introduction by Bernard McGinn

The Idiot - Dostoevsky

Probably for the 7th or 8th time. Can’t find much that is better out there I guess or better suited to my tastes. You listen to music over and over, eat the same things. Walk the same places. I guess it’s ok. Each time you reread a book it strikes you anew, where you are at now so to speak. As long it is still interesting and rewarding (thought provoking) I think it is ok to read things over and over - ditto Scripture, the Church Fathers.

Simultaneously reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and “Book Yourself Solid” by Michael Port.

Why, yes, I am starting a new business. How did you guess? 😛 😉

Letters from Carmel by St. Elizabeth of the Trinity and Never Forget: Christian and Jewish Perspectives on Edith Stein, edited by Sister Waltraud Herbstrith OCD. I am a Lay Carmelite and the formation director in my community: the next day of recollection for the Lay Carmelites in the region where I live will focus on St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein). I am planning a little talk on St. Teresa Benedicta for our Lay Carmelite community’s October meeting, so that the members of our community have a bit of familiarity with her before the day of recollection in December.

7_Sorrows!! You’re back. I was wondering if you had given up on the site.

They had me under a other username I only used 3 months when I first joined.
They finally were able to reestablish the
second account. Yes, I am back, but having issues with this new place. Still
trying to learn how to navigate my way around. Glad to see you are here along with a few other names I recognize.
Don’t know how to find emojis or I would
end with a smiley face!

When you go to reply to a comment, look at the top where all the buttons are and click the smiley face towards the right to find emojis.

😀

I don’t see any smiley faces anywhere.
(Sad face)
I think I need to be reading a book on how
Discourse works. Maybe it is not compatible with my Kindle.
