I am a Catholic. I love God’s word as King David did in Psalm 118. Ok, maybe not that much, that was a little pompous, let’s just say I feel a I a strong calling, a vocation, regarding the Written Word of God. Two questions therefore; One, how can I read the Bible, and love it, without being led astray, like being led into error by faulty interpretation? Second question is I feel like I have a strong led vocation to the Written Word of God; although I don’t desire priest hood. And whether I marry or not that is secondary. I really want to know what options there are in the Church, as to love God’s word, (and I know 'loving God’s Word, is a very general statement) like what can I do, in terms of a vocation as of “loving God’s Word” like what can I do with that in terms of a vocation, as it is my “one thing”, and the thing that really keeps me stable? Thanks in advance

You could get a theology or sacred scripture degree, or you can just start out by reading the bible like I did and whenever something seemed weird/hard to swallow come to this same website or Youtube catholic answers and look up the answers to your questions.

I read it cover to cover, but i started with the new testament if that makes sense. Then went to the old, then read the new testament again to see all of the parallels from the old again.

To begin, you hold the scriptures in one hand and the catechism in the other. For areas not covered, a good Catholic commentary will fill the gaps.

Thanks! I also just found the Didache Bible, which is a Bible that has both Scriptural and Catechism parallel references in that. I would assume that would be beneficial too

Our Father’s Plan by Dr. Scott Hahn and Jeff Cavins walks through salvation history starting with Genesis.
