At least no one has blamed the OF for the problem.
I never heard about it here before this week. We shouldn’t read a lot into anecdotes like this. It is not relevant that this deacon was in the Roman rite, and Easter rite or anything in between. There is surely nothing about these rites one can glean from this incident, or about the Orthodox or Catholics in general.I noticed that in the Orthodox Churches they seem to have a bit more respect for the liturgy
Time spent with Jesus does not need to be alone. I think the question misses that He is with us always, even to the end of the world, even when we watch football, do the dishes, or at our job. I know a cloistered convent where they watch the San Antonio Spurs and have become avid fans. Sports, even being an avid fan, is not incompatible with walking with Jesus. (except for Yankee fans)If you watch 3 hours of football in one afternoon then add up the time spent alone with our Savior in a week
