Some other denominations - such as Lutherans - believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, although their doctrine is somewhat confused. Although they do not have valid sacraments, is it possible - theologically possible - that the Holy Spirit could specially transubstantiate the bread and wine of a Lutheran, or Anglican, or Episcopal communion service into the Real Presence? Can we really say with confidence that this *never *happens?
Say for example an especially devout Lutheran in Norway has lived his whole life truly believing in the Real Presence, but is ignorant of the necessity for Catholic conversion; wouldn’t it be possible for God to fulfill his belief in an extraordinary way?
