Reasons why I remain a Catholic

I am soon to become a Catholic, for a multitude of reasons, some comprehensible some not.

First, my gf brought me back to God 2 years ago, and then one day i just gave it up to God, and Our Mother quickly brought me right to her Son and that was it.

Second, I prayed to show me the way, what do you want me to do? All the cards kept coming up Catholic.

Third, to me it is the truth. It all makes sense, and it seems to be the only Church around here that hasn’t caved into relativism like the anglicans did 90 years ago, and recently with the same sex union thing.

Fourth, all the other Churches I have talked to continuously bad mouthed Catholics in some way. There was always a slander, an off color remark, or some serious anger. But when i talk with Catholics about other churches, it is always a loving opinion I hear in return.

Fifth, the sacraments. Not biblical? Go read it again, and don’t put your own spin on it by trivializing what you wish. In your heart pray to Jesus and ask him to reveal to you the truth. If you seek it you will find it, because I did.

I like to add that the Pope is the other reason why I remain Catholic. He is the key in uniting both Eastern Orthodox and Catholicism. I pray for unity everyday and keep it in my heart.
Me too. For the conversion of unbelievers and the unity of all Christians; that the Church will be purified and that the Lord of the Harvest will send more HOLY priests to minister to His people and reap the harvest of souls; that the lukewarm wil be set on FIRE with the love of God; the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Eucharistic Reign of Christ.

Do you think that about covers everyone?

This Sunday past as we began to sing Lord Have Mercy, I looked up to the altar and the priest was holding the Host looking at it intently. I looked as well and could not join the singing as my heart leaped into my throat and my eyes swam with tears as I gazed on my Lord of Lords, God Almighty the Creator of the Universe who was being cradled in the hands of His priest and about to give me the gift of His Life, my food for eternity.

Mentally, I fell down with my head touching the floor in adoration. I heard a priest tell us to do that and that’s all I could think about.
