Hello I am new here. I am not sure if I have posted this in the right place, so I do apologise if this is in the wrong place.
I will start by saying that I have always been interested in Christianity my whole life, but for one reason or another didn’t pursue it fully. My first exposure to Christianity was with the Church of England as a child and I went to many Christian events, and spent the summer many times attending Church clubs for kids. My parents were not religious but they thought it was important to give me these opportunities they did not have as children. Then as I got older my involvement with the Church became less and less.
Anyway, years later my parents visited Rome on holiday and went to the Vatican and Churches there. They came back with a gift for me which was a Roman Catholic Bible and Rosary beads. This gift reignited my interest in Christianity and all these years later, I find myself coming back to God and rediscovering a journey I started as a child. I want to learn more about Christianity, and I want to live a Christian life. Lots of personal reasons have led to this decision, but one of them is seeing what is happening in this world and feeling that there is more to life than what I am able to see and have without Christian faith.
The reason I am here asking about Roman Catholic Christianity is because of the gift from my parents from Rome and the fact it is the oldest form of Christianity that has stood the test of time. There are many other demonintions that have altered and removed various parts, and I feel if I am to become Christian I want to do it right. But I am at conflict with myself, as my exposure and experience has been with the Church of England, and that holds a lot of good memories for me from my first exposure to Christianity.
So I ask why I should be Catholic over the other Christian demonintions - can you convince me the Catholic way is the right way?
Thanks.
