Merciful Lord in Heaven, you conceived of Pat from all eternity as an irreplaceable part of Your perfect plan. You loved him before time began. In your infinite mercy, accompany him as he struggles through life, as You did with Your beloved Augustine, who enjoys eternity in Your presence. On that glorious day when Pat contritely returns, show him the mercy that was accorded the prodigal son by his loving father. On that day, may there be celebration in Heaven and on earth. O Divine Healer, cause Pat to reflect on his life of dissipation, recalling the peace and order of his prior life. Graciously hear the intercession of Your Beloved Son and Saint Augustine, that not one which was granted You would be lost. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever, Amen.
