My husband used to be very impatient with any setbacks, and things like traffic backed up or a flat tire used to send him into orbit. I always told him, maybe God’s holding us up for a reason, but he’d still get upset. Then one time, while we were traveling, our car started acting funny. We were on a long stretch of highwary, we had a long way to go and the sun was starting to set. He pulled over to see if he could find the problem, but nothing seemed to be wrong. After about twenty minutes, he started to lose his temper, but then I said, “Oh, honey, look at the sky!” He stopped and for the next ten minutes we watched the most beautiful sunset… the sky was ablaze in gold, red, lavender and rose. He told me that his older sister, who had been killed by a drunk driver while walking home when she was 13, used to love sunset skies like that. Well, we got back in the car and prayed we would get to our destination before it conked out. The car ran perfectly! We couldn’t understand it. Then, thirty minutes down the road, we came upon a slew of emergency vehicles and a horrendous car wreck. My husband turned pale, then he looked and me and said, “Let’s say a prayer of thanksgiving… I think my sister stopped us back there so we wouldn’t get into an accident!”

He doesn’t get so impatient anymore. Everytime there’s a delay or detour, he says, God’s doing this for a reason, so I won’t complain.

hi bmaj, my husband and I are etching artists in the monument industry. We meet with the families and help design their stones. My favorite account was from a mother whose pregnant daughter “Kim” was murdered. We were at their home looking through photos for a portrait when her husband broke down in grief. So ‘’ Tammy" (real names changed} took me back to her daughter’s room,( which had been untouched since her death )and told me that she had had a particularly rough day a week earlier ,when her sister called and asked if Jenna, the girl’s four yr old niece could come over for a visit. Tammy was grateful for the company, and pleased because Jenna had been so withdrawn since the funeral. when she arrived, Tammy took J back to the bathroom and sat her on the counter while she cleaned. Jenna asked to turn on the radio and then for the first time in weeks, brought up Kim. She asked Tammy if they were going to go to church that Sunday, and Tammy said yes. Jenna said " good, because Jesus and Kim are there waiting for you."
( Kim was also afraid of the dark and kept a nitelight burning continously, and no one knew of her fear except the parents and Kim’s brother) Then Jenna said, " Kim said that you can turn off the nitelite cause she’s not afraid of the dark anymore."

Hi Bluerose, there have been many times when I was saved by being in a car accident.I don’t want to brag but it is true that God saves me from car accidents.
At times I forget my purse and need to take a few extra minutes to go get it or I decide to check my condo mailbox which also takes time.

Recently there was a major accident on a street where if I had been there just 5 minutes early I would have been part of the accident.

Whenever I fly or go on a cruiseship I feel that everything is going to be okay. One time I was on an airplane to Las Vegas with my two grand-kids. It was their first time flying. I said to my grandson, “Don’t be afraid because Blessed Mother is with us on this plane and we are not going to crash.” I then heard a sigh of relief from a lady sitting across from us. She had been so afraid but the minute she heard my words she relaxed. She was Catholic. I think it relaxed everybody on the plane near me. I have a loud voice.

I know I have several angels who take care of me.

My dad was scheduled for surgery that was a last ditch effort to save his life. He was not expected to survive the surgery, but they had to try.
My mom and dad said their goodbyes at the door of the surgical room, my dad on the guerney ready to be wheeled in. He told her that if he didn’t make it, he would see her on the other side.
He didn’t make it.
This was in California. In Texas, my cousin was in a really bad car accident and was in the hospital, in and out of conscousness. She hadn’t seen my dad in probably 20 years, most likely wouldn’t know him on the street.
She later told her mom that she had the weirdest thing happen to her. She was lying in the bed and saw a vision in the corner of the room up by the ceiling. It was Uncle Mike of all people, and he told her, “I’m on the other side now, and you will be OK.” Why in the world would I see Uncle Mike, and why would he say something like that to me?
Her mom told her, “Honey, Uncle Mike died the day before”

These stories are so great…
One comes to mind. I was younger, about 10 or 11 years old… my grandma’s brother had just passed away and I was upset because there had never been a death of someone i had known before. I layed on my bed, and I started praying for him and crying… then I asked God to please let my Uncle be in heaven with him. Then I sat up in bed, and found a holy card on the floor. It was a picture of Jesus and on the back it said “I am home” with a little prayer. I had never seen it before, and neither had my parents. Needless to say, I wasn’t too worried about my Uncle anymore. I still pray for him, and others that have since passed on.

Hi Forever, I also get some interesting experiences where I am looking for something I can’t find it. Then all of a sudden I find it where it wasn’t before.

My adult son who died 12 years ago is always sending me “SIGNS”. Recently, I was on a cruise ship and a lady found a blue feather on the back of my sweather. Blue was my son’s favorite color plus we are part native Americans. Every time I see any feather, I know it is him especially when it is located in a place where there are no birds.

When his son was 5yrs. old my son had already gone to the other side… his son said, I love the color blue… I loved it even before I was born." Then he said to his mother, "Do I have to share my ice cream with my daddy…? while he was eating ice cream. I know my son was with him when he said that.
My son’s spirit has appeared many times to lots of friends and relatives. He sends me dreams and signs.

Thanks so much for posting all of these great experiences! It’s so inspiring to know that our loved ones still are watching out for us on the other side and waiting until we can all be together again. God really blesses us when we’re able to feel their presence - sometimes it just takes quieting our minds and praying. I couldn’t get my fill of angel stories after I lost both of my parents, and I read every one I could get my hands on in books and magazines over the course of several years. If anyone isn’t familiar with “Angels on Earth” magazine, I highly recommend it. Published every two months, and I wouldn’t give up my subscription for anything (www.angelsonearth.com). It also makes a great gift to assist in the grieving process for anyone who has lost a loved one. I have passed on my copies after reading them to various friends and relatives who are grieving, too, and everyone has been extremely grateful.
You’re all so right about prayer, too - it truly helps all of our loved ones who have passed - even while they’re “helping” us here on earth!!!

This is a very interesting forum… some very fantastic stories…And experiences… I read that we shouldn’t listen to such things, and the 6th sense was all diabolical…which made me feel really bad to read this because I have always had interesting experiences…Every time I have mentioned it to my parents-while growing up- they would tell me it was my imagination…and that was the end of it…

When I was 21 I suffered a terrible car accident, was in a coma and everything…The doctor’s had told my parents there was a chance I might not make it, my parent’s locked themselves in the church in our home town one afternoon right before I went into surgery drainage from my brain, and internal bleeding…And fix my broken legs etc… They felt everything shake and quake and thought it was an earthquake…The lights were going off and on, and everything was being shaken up as if it was an earthquake…My parents held each other tightly and prayed harder when it was done they went outside and on their way to the hopital which was 1 hour away, as soon as they got there they received the news that I was going to make it…and had brain function again…

When I was 21 and suffered my death defying car accident, once I went home to my parents after my long hospital stay, I moved into the garage…I knew my neighbors liked to play their music late in the morning…but for some strange reason, right when the sun was rising I would always hear a chorus and this angelic music every morning, I would wake up before everyone feeling this peace…It was pretty crazy…I don’t know if it was because you know I wasn’t completely recovered or what, but I always heard it…Then I mentioned it to my parents they said I was hearing things and then it stopped happening… I was sad to wake up without it anymore…

This is interesting experiences…

I am part Native-American and when I was in my 30’s I had a terrible job. I would have lots of dreams. One early morning I was dreaming that a beautiful Indian girl was singing a song just for me. I woke up and opened my eyes and I closed them again and I heard the whole song until it was finished. Too bad I can’t write music because I would have loved to have written the song notes down. The words were in her own native language.
What a wonderful dream I had. It was a one time happening,

I have what is called true dreams because yesterday I gave a card to a friend who was moving. The card said, 'If happiness could bloom my garden would be full…because of you. I dream’t last night that I planted some seeds and some beautiful flowers bloomed.
The dream mean’t “you reap what you sow”. I created some happiness for my friend and myself.
I think all of us are born with certain abilities but some people say I must be drinking and they laugh at me. I just let their laughter go because I don’t need to prove anything to anybody. That is my attitude. It works for me. Lucy

All of these incidents are amazing! The music is especially interesting to me since I have read many accounts of those who had near-death experiences and were revived and related hearing music that was far more beautiful and indescribable than any they had ever heard on earth. Apparently God and his angels have some wonderful songs ready for us someday - and a few of us may even get to hear them on earth if we listen carefully enough!

A few hours before my Dad passed away as he lay in bed, he put his hands over his chest and said, “It’s here… I can hear it.” I asked him if he was in pain, and he clearly said no. I believe he was hearing the start of that soothing, beautiful music beyond compare that would help him transition to a much more peaceful place.

My beloved mother died just four weeks ago, and I was especially upset that although I was due to fly home to see her, she died that very morning just a few hours before I arrived. I was beating myself up badly about this a few days after the funereal when a white feather appeared out of nowhere, floating around my head. In Ireland people believe that a white feather like this is from an angel on behalf of a loved one who is trying to comfort you and let you know that they are in heaven. At the time, I thought, ‘It’s a sign from Mum!’ but then I immediately dismissed the idea as pure wishful thinking.

A week passed. I was at Mass in a quiet old church on the Sat evening with my 16 year old son. We were waiting prayerfully for the mass to begin, having just attended Confession. A white feather floated down from the rafters of the church between my son and I. I just knew then that an angel really was letting me know that my mother was sending us a little sign that all was fine! I cannot describe the blissful peace and joy that I felt, and the certainty that she was with God, and this has never left me, or my son. It was a beautiful moment of grace for which I am truly thankful.

My grandmother, who is still alive, is one heck of a prayer warrior. I know she prays for her husband but also for his intercession just in case. As far as signs go, I think my lived ones know I spook easily. So subtlety is key. I’ve had a number of freakishly timely blessings so someone has been keeping an eye out on me.

For years I worked at a job where I experienced depression and crippling self-worth issues. In my worst moments I’d pray for a child. I wanted to be a mom anyway. But a child would mean I’d have a “legitimate” reason to leave my job. Instead of leaving it “because I wanted to”. Now this was complicated because I am infertile. I ovulate 1-3 times a year and we don’t have sex that often. Once a week or once every other week or so. Which was okay and enough for us.

So I finally did it. As a birthday gift to myself I quit. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and I still feel residual guilt over it. But I did it. That was a Friday. Though it would still be some time before I’d know, our daughter was conceived sometime that weekend. TWO MONTHS after my last cycle. It could have happened on my birthday for all I know.

It gets even better…I went into labor and she was born on my husband’s birthday.

The second is more recent. In 2010 I started running with the ultimate goal of running the Walt Disney World marathon. WDW is special to my family. My maternal grandparents came with us for every trip. My grandpa was an amusement park enthusiast and would even go on thrill rides up until the day he passed. But Disney World was his favorite and my memories of him are strongest when we are there. He would have been all for the idea of running to and through all four parks.

Not a lot of people 100% believed I would see this to the end. Either the training would get too hard, the half marathon might scare me out of it, or I might get injured. I’m slow and fat and people are justified in their concern. The plan was to do 2 half marathons in 2013 and the full 26.2 in 2014. (The pregnancy postponed everything by a year)

Now there was a song in particular that I would use for inspiration. It made me feel stronger and more determined and was an essential part of my running playlist. At my first half of 2013 it dawned on me at mile 10 this key song had not popped up yet (I randomize everything). I really could have used it then as that was when I was losing steam. At mile 13 I took out my headphones so I could hear my family at the finish line. I was happy and proud of what I had done. But I was so sore and tired that I began to reconsider the full and how utterly unprepared I was for that distance. 13.1 miles is nothing to sneeze at. Maybe I could be satisfied with that.

I got my medal and took some finisher pictures. Then just for kicks I popped my headphones on just to hear what was playing at the time…and immediately started bawling like a baby when I heard the start of first verse of that song playing in my ear.

I took it that this was my grandpa’s way of telling me that he was proud of me and that I should keep going. I don’t think it would have had the same effect on me if I heard it while out on the course.

It’s truly only by the grace of God that it happened…but I did complete that marathon last week.
