Reflection: ‘Corpus Christi’, Body and Blood of Christ. We are Living Monstrances

Jesus lives within each one of us who are baptized into His Body

In this celebration we proclaim our belief in the Real presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. We also proclaim that same Jesus lives within each one of us who are baptized into His Body, the Church. In the Holy Eucharist we receive the Divine Host whom we carry in procession. Through our Baptism he has taken up residence within each one of us. We carry Him into the real world just as we carry the monstrance into its streets today. When we process we proclaim that the Lord continues to come into the world, through us.

i intended to attend Mass this evening, but after arriving i got sick so i had to leave.
i really wanted to attend this Mass. i am watching the Mass on EWTN tonight.
at least i was able to pick up a bulletin and leave my offering envelopes, but i wish that i could have been present for this special Mass.

The most beautiful thing happened in our area yesterday on this most blessed feast. Our new bishop inaugurated Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in this diocese. A beautiful Mass, well attended, Benediction and Procession of the Blessed Sacrament followed with three altars, hymns, litanies and various prayers.

With 37% of Catholics not believing in the Real Presence, the bishop has us just where we need to be - on our knees in front of the Eucharist.

I’m curious…how many attended outdoor processions yesterday and what area of the country do you live?
