There’s nothing to discuss. Reincarnation is completely contrary to Christian teachings. Nuff said.
The idea’s intriguing, though…at least to some of us, the thought of having another shot at life doesn’t seem bad at all.

But yeah: As so many others have said: Reincarnation + Christianity = no match

Of course Jesus’s sacrifice was not inutile. I was saying the idea of reincarnation would cancel the neccesity of Jesus being crucified and taking our sins on His own, but reincarnation doesn;t exist! I don’t say or think for a second that Jesus’s life was inutile, the contrary. WE could never thank HIm enough!
 
Actually, Hinduism is not polytheistic. It was the first religion to come out with the belief of one God. The others, goddesses and the like are merely aspects of the One.

Krishna was a divine being like Christ. I am not Hindu, myself, but have studied it and went to India.

It’s French for “useless.” I’m not sure why everyone is using it on this thread. Or maybe I should say Je ne sais pas pourquoi tout le monde l’emploie sur ce “thread.”

Hi Luigi Daniele: Just for clarification, The belief on the part of Hindus is that they were both God in human flesh. The same God. First Krishna, and then about a thousand years later, Jesus. It’s a rather strange concept for westerners, yes. I’m not suggesting that you believe that, but clarifying the belief.

Actually, in the study of religions, you will find there were divine beings before Christ. I like to think of Christ as the introduction to the West of God’s descending as man. It was known long before that in the Far East…Rama, for one preceded Krishna.

Krishna, a divine being said that when evil threatens to overcome man, God incarnates.
 
If the memory of Church history serves me right, reincarnation was done away with in the fifth or sixth centuries…the early Christians believed in it, and it is believed by many that Christ did, too.

Yes, Avatars. Actually, Rama. Krishna and Jesus were Mahavatars, or “Great Avatars.”
 
Tho even among wiccans or witchs, there is much contraversy. some of us beleave in summerland while other like my self beleave in reancarnation much like the buddhists do 😃 that we must attain perfection in our souls to join the god, i only differ my beleifs in that we must do everything and anything in our lifes to become perfect. and we become gods and goddess’s our selves

Yes, I believe in reincarnation. To me, Christ’s teachings make a lot more sense in view of it.

For one, He said to His apostles, “Who do they say I am? Elias come back again…or Elias returning?” I may have some of the words slightly inaccurate, but that’s the gist of what He said.

Thank you for taking the time to explore this with all of us! And I hope that your membership is reinstated, as I have enjoyed your various posts so much. It’s nice to get another perspective we may not often be exposed to, and I believe it helps each of us to get a bigger picture of this world in which we live!
