Catholics believe the soul is God’s life within. I’m sure God’s life can move on to another body after the death of one. The belief in reincarnation is far older than Christianity, and I believe Christ believed in it. He went to the east and learned much from teachers there and “grew in wisdom”.

The Vedas far exceed any religion on earth and it would do us all well to study them. I believe that is where Christ chose to learn as a man on earth and acquired much of his knowledge.

But hey, that’s just my opinion.
interesting view. but if it were true, Christ would have been teaching hindu theology, not Jewish theology, like he was. Jesus was and is Jewish. if he had come with a message as alien to Jewish thought such as hinduism, he would not have had any followers what so ever. i know what passages you think imply Jesus belief in reincarntion, but on further study, they do nothing of the sort. just out of curiosity, if you are a protestant, and you believe the vedas are far superior to any religion on earth, then why are you still a christian. shouldnt you convert fully to eastern mysticism? Peace 🙂

Hi Light 1111: I am not aware of any Christian teachings outside of possibly some Gnostic writings that cover some of those missing years. In India there is quite a bit if tradition about those years, and in these He is referred to as Issa. You can find quite a bit if you look up the life of Saint Issa. It’s a bit controversial for westerners so I won’t post any links.

Sufjon, You sure bring some interesting knowledge to our discussions! I’ve come across the name “Issa” rather frequently in reading about ancient cultures (I’ve read a lot about Indian belief), so I found this incredible once put into context. Thank you for sharing! Peace.

christianity has been the most violent religion in history, out of all religions…you cant even compare hinduism with christianity on that point. The politics of today are something new and they havent been there always, historically speaking hinduism has worked perfect with other religions, specially islam…thats how i see it.

you can not compare a recent hindu nationalist party with a whole religion, just like you cant compare some terrorists with whole islam
I suggest that you pray to the God of Jacob, the God of Isaac, the God of Abraham and then take a trip to Medjugorje - to mount Kriezevac and wait for the Gospa. She (if you allow) will rearrange your life’s priorities like she arranged the flowers on Juan Diego’s Tilma.

Gospa Mir !

Hi Mangy Dog: Have you been there - to mount Kriezevac? If you have, can you share your story?

I disagree. Atheists have killed more people in the last century than can be counted. Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, and the killing that went on in Asia far exceed anything Christians have ever done. The Protestants in England did their very best to wipe out the Catholic faith by killing many there in prior centuries. We both know how many Christians were killed when the Mohammedans invaded northern Africa and other countries. Study history. The facts are plain to see.

Hi bettyg51: I don’t know if an accurate body count of who killed who is something that can be achieved, although I can say that a body count probably isn’t the best way for us to assess religions or come together. Now if we could all agree to stop killing, or maybe one day to stop even fighting, well that would be something! 🙂

Hello my friend,

I’m sorry to say that I have not been there. I follow closely the message that come from Medjugorje as there is no doubt in my catholic mind that this will become an approved apparition site in the not so distant future.

I’ve read the testimony of american aviator that was shot down over the region and the Marine Spec Ops that rescued him. It is nothing short of miraculous.

I believe.

Gospa Mir !

Hello my friend,

I’ve lost two messages so far in cyber-space. My apologies.

I have not been to Medjugorje. I stay current on the messages still coming from there and have read the testimonies of the american aviator shot down over the region and his marine spec ops rescuers. Their’s is nothing short of miraculous.

I believe. I also believe that in the not so distant future, this apparition site will be officially approved.

I believe.

Gospa Mir ora pro nobis.

I give up.

Can’t get my responses posted.

There must be techinical problems at one end or the other.

VMancha, sorry to be so long in getting back here. In my Catholic learnings, we were taught that the soul is God’s life in us. That, perhaps, is why the soul is the most important part of our makeup…

Actually, the Vedas are ancient teachings that precede Hinduism or any other organized religion.

I do not believe the Vedas contradict Christianity, and are perhaps the source for much of what Christ learned when he traveled to the East.

Reincarnation was done away with by the Catholic hierarchy around the sixth century, I believe. The early Christians believed in it.

Buddhist beliefs are those based on what the Buddha taught. He may have accepted the Vedas…I’m not too familiar with his teachings, although my youngest son is a Buddhist.

This thread was really dysfunctional yesterday…first, nothing could be posted, then everything repeated today. LOL

Hi Mangy Dog: Glad to finally get your messages. I think the message board has had problems. This sounds amazing and if I ever get the chance to go there, I’ll be sure to do it!

I am a believer of God, Jesus and Mary - but do not belong to any religious sector, and I still believe in reincarnation, Archangel Azrael comes to us in our last hour (earth bound spirits are ones who Azrael hasn’t reached yet, or has asked him to come back at another time…as they haven’t finished of things that they didn’t do while they were alive) and guides us up to heaven to make our future decision. We are asked if we would like to have eternal rest, to reincarnate (this is ultimately God’s decision what who reincarnate to) or to be a Guardian Angel.

This is what my spiritual lessons have taught me with my spiritual contacts.
