About 2 years ago they did a house cleaning of us Catholics. I was a member there and got the boot for promoting Catholic theology. There were about 10 others. Now they don’t let Catholics on. It was kind of a fun board though and we did win at least two Protestants over to the truth.
I know of three from the Baptist Board who ended up becoming Catholic. And the amusing thing is that at least two of them came to that forum (as Baptists) with the intent of showing Catholics the error of their ways. 😃

They laugh about that now! But it also shows why we all got kicked off.

I never said there was anything wrong about spreading the truth. What is wrong is barging in on people and critizing their beleifs and then promoting yours.

I can bet you any money that when he grows up, he will see the Truth and learn to accept Christ.
Again… all I wanted to do was use apologetics to defend MY faith when then criticize MY beliefs. You have to plant the seed somewhere… as you probably did with your best friend’s brother. That brief conversation may impact him in the future.

BTW… while I was in the Baptist Board watching them mutilate our believes on Salvation… one catholic stepped in and offered her Point of View… only she typed “Catholic P.O.V.”

A few minutes later the monitor of that thread asked her if P.O.V. stood for “Prisoner of the Vatican”

How cold!

You also might try several sites that are apologetics-centered and seem to encourage thoughtful exchanges:

carm.org/boards.htm
thechristiandefense.com/

I echo the admonishment of the previous poster. Conversation should always be respectful. Remember, without love, truth is just a clanging symbol.
"Seem to encourage thoughtful exchanges"!!! I think not!!
***I was at that board for a good while and I was never treated so badly in all my life. They will not accept any reference, historical or biblical, when you try to explain your Catholic position or a differing theolgical position. It is nothing but vicious ATTACKS!! Don’t go there! ***

The owner of the board, Matt Slick (?) is a vehement Anti-Catholic that posts lies about Catholicism and passes “his truth” off as real truth. It’s an awful site.

No, actually I just did some quick research on Google for the original poster. I’m not registered on either of the sites I listed. Were the people rude at CARM or just not eager to see things through the Catholic perspective?
BOTH!!!

Church Militant:
Update! The above link is a waste of time. They supposedly had 5 Catholic mods on there but the lack of charity and level of bashing is ALL outta proportion. I left, called for a boycott of it by Catholics after they ran off about the only good Catholic mod in the place after he suspended a fundie for using the term “papal bullshit” and have since been banned. One of the “owners” e-mailed me that I shouldn’t let the door hit me in the butt on the way out.
I assured him that it wouldn’t…
Just FYI…
Pax vobiscum,

I also left that forum, due to the blatant anti catholicism that is perpetrated…by people who claim to be Catholic. I left before Church Militant came into the group…then had gone back for a bit, but hadn’t posted…then left again after Church Militant left…they have a fundie on there posting passages out of Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Mr. Keating, leaving out passages, in an attempt to make it sound like we worship Mary as God…sigh…

I also suggest anyone serious about apologetics stay away from this forum…they are only there to fight, absolutely NO references are ever given, and they misquote constantly in an effort to enflame the arguments.

Wow, I can’t believe you guys have time for other forums. I’ve been finding this one too time consuming!

i’m going to say my two cents.

going to a protestant board and trying to convert them is just as bad as a baptist coming here to proselityse. I think God is taking care of the conversion business. extrapolate RCIA over all the dioceses in the country.
It’s not necessarily a case of trying to convert people, but of trying to answer false charges with the truth. On the Baptist Board now (I was one of the ones thrown off in the housecleaning) they discuss their idea of Catholicism among themselves with very few Catholics left to inject accuracy into their comments.

(Wow, just noticed how old this thread is!)
