We are separate. Separate Masses, separate calendars, separate evertything. If you can’t see that, what can I say?

I told you why I would be horrified. Rubrics and even pleading from the Holy Father haven’t stopped presiders from butchering the new Mass. They wouldn’t stop them from butchering the old as well. I don’t have the ability to speak for all Traditionalists. Can’t tell you what their aims are. I only outlined my aims. Which are to be left alone to worship God as I see fit and the Church has allowed and to not be dragged into your mess. We can’t be expected to carry you people’s water constantly. You need to clean it up yourself.
It is exactly this attitude that keeps me away from the TLM. If I had these intense feelings of hatred for any aspect of the Church, I would be ashamed to call myself “Catholic”

And I thank God that it is not up to you to determine my Catholicity. Sadly for you, I cannot be excommunicated by your hate.

I have NO hate. It is pity and compassion I have for you. I pray that the Holy Spirit will infuse your heart with wisdom, love and obedience:gopray:

You have nothing but hate. Your words drip with it. And condescension too.

But then, on these threads, the luggage that seems to go with the TLM!
The liberal, dissenting French Bishops also spoke of the “baggage” that goes along with the TLM and used that to argue against any expansion of the indult…

I think we have to face facts: the overwhelming majority of TLM advocates who post here don’t simply want the TLM, they want the TLM TRIUMPHANT, they want the TLM standing victorious over the fallen NO, with it’s foot on the NO neck.
We can only dream… 😃

No offense, but many posters here believe that the current abuses and lack of reverence and mass attendance was caused by the NO. But in your comments you seem to be concerned that the TLM would be abused. So, is it priests who caused liturgical abuse after VII or was it the NO???

Personally, I would be horrified if the TLM became the standard Mass of the Latin Rite at this point in history. I can imagine what the liturgical butchers would do to it. No, separate calendars, separate Masses…just the way God intended. No triumphalism here. My people and I just want to be left alone. And we’ll gladly leave you alone with your Mass
My people and I? Kind of dramatic don’t you think?😉 Left alone to do what? You fail to realize that if you didn’t mention the Novus Ordo then we would hardly be conversing. 99% of the time we would be in agreement and would simply be reading threads about how beautiful the Vetus Ordo is and seeing some great info posted on the pre-VII devotions. Again, lots of feet with lots of holes.

Same saints and same Pope, right? We are not a separate Church, right?

:rotfl: You noticed that too? I think the good doctor was so intent on baiting that he didn’t realize he set himself up for that one.

But really, I digress. TNT had a wonderful idea for all parties involved. Blessed Good Friday to you all.

Thanks for being honest, Caesar.

That sadly has been my experience also, which I find incredibly sad. For with it comes the image of the Pharisee standing off praying "thank you for not making me like those “others”, with all the blindness that implies. And that is not to say that there is equal sentiment from some on the NO “side”, which is equally sad.

To paraphrase St. Paul, “There is no Jew or Greek, woman or man, TLMer or NOer. We are all one in the same Lord.” When we stop believing that we have far more serious problems than which liturgy we prefer.

So, maybe today we can all hang our pride and those feelings of superiority on the cross with Jesus, and pray mightily that they NOT be resurrected on Sunday.

Peace,

Oh yeah between these two comments it is obvious who’s being hateful.
