The entire arc of Blessed Fr. Alberione’s life was a fabric woven with apostolic action and of prayer, according to the Benedictine motto that was familiar to him, and which he translated as norm for his people: “Prayer in the first place, above everything else, life of everything.” (CISP 97).

Just as Jesus, to the Twelve who pleaded that he taught them how to pray, proposed the formula “Our Father,” so did Father Alberione – while intensely living a life of prayer – taught it to his people by means of formulas held as concrete vehicles of a spirit, “containers” of a heritage destined to last.

(here is one of the prayers)

Pauline Offertory

Father, in union with all those who today celebrate the Eucharist, I wish to offer myself, a small victim, with Jesus, the Victim:

– in atonement for error and scandal spread throughout the world through the misuse of the media of social communication;

– to appeal to your mercy for those persons, who deceived and seduced by the influence of these instruments stray from your fatherly love;

– for the conversion of those persons who in the use of these instruments reject the teaching of Christ and his Church and thus warp the minds, the hearts, and the undertakings of men and women;

– that we may follow him alone whom you, Father, in your boundless love, sent into the world, saying: “This is my beloved Son, hear him”;

– to acknowledge and to make known that Jesus alone, the Word Incarnate, is the perfect Teacher, the trustworthy Way who leads to knowledge of you, Father, and to a partaking of your life;

– that there be in the Church an increase in the number of priests, religious, and lay persons who, consecrated as apostles of social communication, will make resound throughout the world the message of salvation;

– that all those who work within the framework of social communication may grow in holiness and wisdom and bear witness to an authentic Christian life;

– that the undertakings of Catholics within the sphere of social communication may continually increase so that by promoting more effectively genuine human and Christian values the voice of error and evil will be counteracted;

– that well aware of our insufficiency and unworthiness we may realize the need to draw near the font of life in all humility and trust and to be nourished with your word, Father, and with the body of Christ, invoking light, love and mercy for all men and women.

Thank you Lord… Thank you

It is my understanding relics are not to be sold, yet there are posts on ebay offering some. Is this allowed?

Yes it is a sin called “simony”.
It is named after Simon the Magician (you can read the account from the Acts of the Apostles) who tried to bribe and buy the healing gifts of St.Peter.

God bless each and everyone of you for making the lesser Saints and those called to Sainthood known more better. It so wonderful and refreshing to get to know someone even better that way we can read about their lives and marvel at the similarities that these Saints have gone through or we can strive to be like them whose main goal is always Jesus Christ.

Thank you to each and everyone who has provided the contact information in the past few months that means a lot to me and I am sure many other people whom you have contacted appreciates that as well.

It hurts me very much to know that people are still selling Relics and I discovered (I’m sure this is posted somewhere on CAF already). There is a person claiming he is “priest” from the Vatican selling Relics

or

Let us Pray that the sin of Simony and Relic abuse will stop.

Please know that even if you do not receive a Relic that the Saints are always Praying for you and Our Lord Jesus is there in the Holy Eucharist.

God bless,

In our technological age, the whole idea of relics may seem strange. Remember, all of us treasure things that have belonged to someone we love—a piece of clothing, another personal item, a lock of hair. Those “relics” remind us of the love we share with that person while he was still living and even after death. Our hearts are torn when we think about disposing of the very personal things of a deceased loved one. Even from an historical sense, at Ford’s Theater Museum for instance, we can see things that belonged to President Lincoln, including the blood-stained pillow on which he died. More importantly, we treasure the relics of saints, the holy instruments of God.

This past summer and autumn I have been blessed to receive the following Devotional items

Servant of God, Carlo Acutis

Here is a bit about Servant of God, Carlo Acutis

The one photo that you see by the envelope has been touched to his Relic

Since, everything is in Italian language I gave most of the Prayer cards and both books away to an Italian family. * The photos and artwork in this book are absolutely amazing.

What a wonderful young man and he is such a good role model for our youth.

The Prayer card in English is Make me a channel/instrument of your Peace by: St. Francis of Assisi

God bless,

Good to be back here.

I’ve received quite a few relics since my last post.
Some of the relics I got, I also gave away to those
who need them.

Here’s one relic I got a few years back of the Cure
d’Ars and since we have a new priest in the clan what
I did was to call a friend and have it placed in a theca
then gave it as a gift to this relative.
flickr.com/photos/34294456@N05/11306378535/

Its my way of reminding him that his priesthood
is a gift and he needs to be holy like the saintly
Cure d’Ars.

Blessings.

I have the contact info for a group that is promoting Pope Pius XII/s beatification process and is distributing holy cards with a second class relic snclosed in them along with a prayer on the back that is for his cause for sainthood. if anyone is interested in fostering devotion to pope pius xii who is very close to my heart and more deserving of sainthood than all of the post vatican II popes combined, email me for the contact info. if youre a vatican II lover, probably not for you. thanks 🙂 God Bless

does anyone have a contact on where I can request for a relic of Blessed John XXIII.?

I am very grateful to receive a pamphlet and a couple Second Class Relics (from her nightgown) of St. Katharine Drexel.

Here is something interesting of St. Katharine Drexel:
In 1889, while attending the Catholic Colored Congress in Washington DC, Father Tolton learned about Mother Katherine Drexel (now St. Katherine Drexel), the foundress of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (SBS) in Philadelphia. Upon the death of her father, the head of the famous banking house of Drexel & Co., Katherine and her two sisters became heiresses of an immense fortune. Katherine Drexel had a private meeting with Pope Leo XIII in January of 1887 and she spoke of her interest in helping the Negro and Indian missions in the United States. The pope urged her to become a missionary herself and use her fortune to help these apostolates.
Katherine then founded a religious order of Sisters. Father Tolton, learning about Mother Katherine made repeated appeals to her for assistance. It is not known exactly how much help was given, but it was at least $36,000. A number of letters that Father wrote to her are in the archives and have been collected for purposes of examination for his Cause.
