Anyways, I’m not really sure if the following are relics are not since one is in French and the other one is in Italian on the holy medal it states tela toccata alla s lingua del santo padova which from my understanding means cloth touched by the holy tongue of Saint Anthony of Padua

My sincere apologize for the poor quality in the photos.

The first one is St. Marguerite d’Youville and the other is a holy medal of St. Anthony of Padua.
My French isn’t exactly the greatest (I can read it somewhat, but can’t speak, pretty much forgot much of it). I believe the first one says that it is a piece of cloth touched to a 1st class relic of St. Marguerite d’Youville; which indeed makes it a relic, 3rd class one. Your second item looks exactly like the relic medal I have of St Anthony, a gift from St Anthony’s Guild many, many years ago; it is a 3rd class relic that has been touched to the relic of his tongue, which is the only part of his body still preserved and incorrupt.

Goforgoal,
Thank you very much for clarifying and thank you for all of the great information. Sorry for the inconvenince.

JDSS

Claypots47-Thank you for translating this for me and for answering my questions.

JDSS- No problem and it’s no inconvenince at all.

I also wanted to say that I am so happy, honored, and blessed to receive 9 Prayer cards of Blessed Pope John Paul II to be handed out to my loved ones along with a Prayer card with a third class relic of Blessed Pope John Paul II.

This is what the Prayer card states:

Prayer to Implore Favors Through the Intercession of Blessed

John Paul, Pope

O Blessed Trinity, we thank You for having
graced the Church with Blessed Pope John Paul
II and for allowing the tenderness of Your
Fatherly care, the glory of your Cross of
Christ, and the splender of the Spirit of
love, to shine through him. Trusting fully
in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal
intercession of Mary, he has given us a
living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd,
and has shown us that holiness is the
necessary measure of ordinary Christian life
and is the way of achieving eternal communion
with You. Grant us, by his intercession, and
according to Your will, the graces we implore,
hoping that he will soon be numbered among
Your Saints. Amen.

God bless,

Goforgoal, I also received a prayer card like that with the relic. It’s actually not a third class relic but a second class. On the back, it says “ex indumentis” which means from the clothing I believe. 🙂

Wow! A second class-relic thank you and God bless you for correcting me.

Nevermore22- God bless you for recommending the website I also was blessed to receive a second class relic of Servant of God Catherine Doherty.

I really appreciate and love all of the holy relics I received.

God bless,

In the past month (August) I was filled with joy and blessed to receive a letter, booklets which discusses briefly the times and life of Servant of God Fr. Emil Kapaun, prayer cards of Servant of God Fr. Emil Kapaun, and two holy prayer cards with a relic of Fr. Emil Kapaun (the one that is pictured) I plan on giving it to my parish Priest and since Fr. John Hotze sent additional booklets and Prayer cards I’m going to give them to the Parishoners at Church.

Father Emil Kapaun ~ Servant of God ~ Priest, Soldier, and friend ~ Pray for us.

**Father Emil Kapaun gave
glory to God by following his call to the priesthood and
thus serving the people of Kansas
and those in the military.
Father Kapaun, I ask your
intercession not only for these needs which I mention now … but that I
too may favor your example of
service to God and my neighbor.
For all the gifts of courage in battle
and perseverance of faith,
we give you thanks O Lord.

Recite one Our Father, Haily Mary, and one Glory Be.**

If you would like a holy relic card of Servant of God Fr. Emil Kapaun please contact Fr. John Holtze at:

Father Kapaun Guild

Phone - (316) 269-3925

Please contact Father John Hotze at the above address or you can e-mail Father John Hotze at:

When I request relics I don’t just say “Hey you, Fr. John give me a relic.” instead I ask them kindly if they can give me a relic I would greatly appreciate it and if not than I’m okay and I understand. Also, I ask them to Pray with and for me (everyone) as well.

I’m also wanted to share this I am pleased, filled with joy, and blessed to receive 2 brief biography/prayer cards of Bl. Elizabeth of the Trinity, 2 bookmarks, 2 holy relic cards of Bl. Elizabeth of the Trinity <–I gave one to my parish Priest. Along with a second class (at least I think it is and correct me if I’m wrong) A piece of Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity’s clothing.

I am so joyful and honored to receive all of this back in August – The month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the month of my Birthday.

After reading about the process of Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity’s Canonization here:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=585366

I shared this good news and the link that was provided with most of the Discalced Carmelite Nuns whom I frequently contact including Carmel de Dijon and I happened to send them my Prayer request along with a request for a relic of Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity.

Just in case the prayer card of Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity isn’t clickable it states:

Novena to the Blessed Elisabeth of the Trinity (1880 - 1906)

O blessed Elisabeth!
In your great love of God,
You were always so close
to your friend’s needs.
Now, in Heaven,
Face to face with the Lord,
Do intervene near Him
for the needs we recommend to you
(quote these here)
Teach us how to abide, in Love and Faith,
with the Holy Trinity
in the utmost of our heart.
Teach us how to radiate God’s Love
amongst men, in our everyday life
just as you did yourself,
so that we may be a praise of God’s glory

Now pray slowly the Lord’s prayer,
then thrice: Glory be to Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

You may request a relic of Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity by sending an E-Mail to:

elisabeth.dijon@carmel.asso.fr

or

carmel.flavignerot@wanadoo.fr

Homepage: elisabeth-dijon.org/index.html

Yes, it may very well be in French but send them an email anyways. Sr. Marie-Michelle de la Croix, OCD was kind enough to send me a confirmation email/letter.

Please Pray for their Beatification and Canonization as they are in Heaven Praying for all of us.

God be with you and God bless,

I have been extremely blessed by all of the wonderful link to the lovely relics/holy cards. I have enjoyed praying for everyones’ canonizations.

I recently stumbled upon the website promoting Arch. Sheen’s cause. They too are sending out holy cards and second class relics (of Arch. Sheen’s vestments). I recently received mine, as well as much other information in the mail.

archbishopsheencause.org/the-cause/request-materials

I had to send my request in by mail. I also added some money to help cover the cost. They will greatly appreciate it. Give a little more than the amount to just pay for the postage of your own request. This way they will be able to send out even more info on Archbishop Sheen.

And don’t forget to pray for everyone whose relic/holy card you received!

Also, my relic of Fr. Michael McGivney, on top of the piece of fabric, it looks like a small piece of hair attached to it. I used a magnifying glass, and found that it was: tiny strands of brown hair. Does anyone else have this? Or do you think that it was an accident?

In Christ through Mary,

Thank you for mentioning this. Actually, if it wasn’t for CAF I would have never known who Servant of God Archbishop Fulton J Sheen was so thank you CAF.👍

No, I didn’t notice any brown hair on mine it just has a thread and stated, "touched to the body of Fr. Michael J. McGivney. So, as for the small strand of brown hair perhaps its a hair from whomever puts these relics together or who knows maybe you’re blessed to receive a 1st Class Relic <–(correct me if I’m wrong) of Fr. Michael J. McGivney.

And don’t forget to pray for everyone whose relic/holy card you received!

Even if you don’t receive a relic don’t be discouraged but Pray for their Beatification, Canonization, and ask for their intercession.

God bless,

Oops! I just realized on post # 46 (Sept.14th) I made a mistake I should have said, “I’ve” instead of “I’m”

Anyways, October. 5th, 2011, Wednesday the Feast Day of St. Faustina I was blessed and honored to receive a relic of Servant of God, Mother Catherine Aurelia of the Precious Blood along with prayers, stickers, and a short bio on Mother Catherine Aurelia. If it wasn’t for another CAF Member I would have never known anything about her so I am very thankful.

Greetings.

Indeed many of the sites providing relics are indeed true.

The first relic I have is from St. Therese of the Child Jesus, when her relics were in a pilgrimage in the Philippines in 2000. I believe my mother attended it. She got 2 prayer cards with a piece of cloth touched from her relics. The other relic, if I remembered right, was sent to my priest friend who served at the US Navy Chaplain Corps.

I just got interested looking for relic card just this year, since I was looking already for prayer cards (which I also share to people) and relic cards.

On the case of Blessed Pope John Paul II, I wrote Rev. Msgr. Swalomir Oder, Postulator from his cause. I got curious when searching the web when everything was referenced to Bro. (now Rev. Fr.) Christopher Gaffrey, which he eventually cleared it up in his blog (gaffrey.blogspot.com).

I was happy to receive his relic card ex indumentis.

As for Servant of God Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen (ex vestimentis), their email replied to me to write them a snail mail instead for my request. It took some time, and I am glad to receive his relic card. I also shared his biography and prayer cards to selected members of the clergy in my Archdiocese.

And yes, I also receive the following from the posts mentioned.

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Venerable Solanus Casey (3rd class)

Servant of God Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and of Immaculate Heart of Mary

Blessed Jacinta and Francisco Marto

Venerable Father Michael McGivney (ex vestimentis) [capcerda is right about the pink cloth and the brown thread.)

Servant of God Catherine Doherty (*2nd class)

Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity (ex vestimentis)

Servant of God Mother Maria Beatriz Del Rosario Arroyo (a candidate for sainthood here in the Philippines; her relic card is in a form of a bookmark)

Blessed Miguel Pro (2nd class, piece of wood from his coffin)

As for Servant of God Rev. Fr. Augustus Tolton and Rev. Fr. Emil Kapaun, I received their prayer cards. No relic cards given.

I haven’t tried yet to Bro. Joseph Andre’s relic, and that of Mother Catherine Aurelia is still in the email.

Checking again, I also received a rosary/chaplet (you can pray 1 decade of rosary here only) before. A card written in English language stated that “this rosary or chaplet is a third class relic as it touched to the relic of the True Cross.” On the right side is a picture of a cross with Latin Inscription, “Ex Lig[num] Crucis D.N.J.C.” (I guess abbreviated since the inscription was placed inside the relic of the true cross), which means “from the Wood of the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ.”

And yes, whether relic cards or prayer cards, I regularly pray for the candidates of sainthood, those already beatified and those given canonized.

Greetings.

In addition to the relic cards stated, I also receive the prayer card touched to the relics of St. Gemma Galgani.

I also got the third class relic of St. Roch, from the Friends of St. Roch. At first, FoSR sadly had to say that they cannot send a mail to me months back, since there was a problem in CanadaPost before.

Eventually, CanadaPost resumed their services, notified FoSR and send the third class relic.
