Does anybody know where I can get a relic (any class will do) of St. Catherine of Siena? A priest that I know says that he entrusted me to her and so I am looking for a relic of some kind.
Her relics are very rare so it is almost impossible to get. You might get only fake relics. I tell you.

Catherine of Siena was there. I have a rosary, I touched to her reliquary. It’s a great presentation.
It was indeed a wonderful presentation! We went last December when it was at Immaculate Heart of Mary, and I was overwhelmed by its affect on me.

I went with my friend when it was here in March (Wednesday of that week was the anniversary of the accident that mangled my hand), and then at Bishop Machebeuf HS with my son because he really wanted to go and bless the medals for his classmates – how sweet is that?!

As a side story… My son brought a special medal of his patron saint with him, and he wanted to touch it to a relic of St. Conrad, with whom he has a special connection. He said he only wanted to touch it to St. Conrad’s relic, and the relic of the cross.

Well, we made our way across the room, keeping an eye out for Saints for whom we had medals, and also stopping to venerate the relics of Saints for whom we have a special love. We came to one of the last tables on the first side of the gym, and my son went around to see the relics on the other side of the table, still looking for St. Conrad.

As he rounded the corner of the table, before he’d really even looked at the first relic there, he suddenly dropped to his knees and touched his patron saint medal to the relic. I asked, “Is that St. Conrad?” He looked at the biography card and said, “No, I just decided I’m gonna touch my medal to the relics of a few Saints.” Then he got up and walked on.

Curious, I walked around the table to see who it was. It was St. Jane Frances de Chantal. I didn’t know much about her, so I read her bio and her patronages. My jaw dropped when I saw she is the patron saint of parents who are separated from their children! Ever since my divorce, I suffer horribly on the three days a week that my son is with his dad – my heart just breaks. But that night God gave me a new friend and helper in heaven through the simple heart of my son!

I love the Communion of Saints - what a beautiful gift our Mother Church has given us!!

OK, and now back to topic 😊

I’m not too sure about the exact date but either May.5th, 2011, Thurs. or May.6th, 2011, Fri. I received a holy card with a small particle of Blessed Franciso and Blessed Jacinta Marto’s coffin and holy card with a small cloth of Servant of God Sr. Lucia of Fatima.

That is the attachments/photos with prayers

I emailed my prayer intentions along with requesting a relic from

pedidos@santuario-fatima.pt

santuario-fatima.pt/portal/index.php?lang=EN

fatima2017.org

I wish I could obtain the relic card of Jacinta and Francisco. That email address hasn’t been successful for me after months of trying to get through. Can someone please help me? I look to these too little saints for inspiration in my life amidst the attacks that are made everywhere upon our Holy Mother Church, as well as my vocation which has been bruised and battered over these teenage years, God Bless.
I’m really honored and blessed to receive all of these wonderful relics they came at a time when I most needed them–you see last month and this month my (paternal) grandmother was dying sadly on Mother’s Day May.8th, 2011, Sun. at 11:30 p.m. she left us.

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=556564

I’m not too sure if my previous post made any sense but what I meant to say was I know that relics are NOT for sale but please offer them a donation (if you can) since postage, shipping and handling does cost money. The donation(s) may benefit there community, order, monastery, etc. Also, keep in mind to Pray for their beatifications and canonizations.

God bless,

Here is a list of contact emails perhaps if you email more than one you will eventually receive a reply.

I don’t mean to sound like a broken record to you (or to anyone for that matter) but please be patient, Pray, Ask for their intercession, and especially Pray for whomever the candidate is for Sainthood’s Beatification and/or Canonization.

Looking back at some of your posts FraLeones on page.7, post. # 98 were you ever able to obtain relics of Blessed Dina Belanger, Blessed Laura Vicuña, Blessed Alexandrina da Costa, and Blessed Imelda Lambertini?

FraLeones, A Postulator told you that Filipino’s are somehow greedy in relics? What did this person mean by that? Did you ask them?

Even though, this person is a Postulator that is uncalled-for and rude.

Maybe, the person’s intentions are to make the following candidate for Sainthood known and loved in their community.

Are you certain this person wasn’t posing as a “Postulator”?

FraLeones, I really appreciate all of the contact information that you have provided in the past up to now. Last month, I sent an email to the Sisters of the Providence of Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods.

God bless each and everyone of you,

Since there was a quote regarding this, one of the folks I emailed regarding my request of literature, noticed that most people who request come from the Philippines. The community also wondered on the sudden number of request coming in our country, I’m not mentioning who sent the reply, but the person did sent a mail for me.

Well thank you I emailed every single address! I’ve found that certain postulators can be rather stingy as well. Sometimes downright rude. It is true it is their duty to promote their candidate for sainthood and what better way to distribute relics freely and gladly to the faithful? All “relic abuse” aside, I think second class relics help you to feel at least a little bit closer to the person and pray for their intercession and the postulator shouldn’t have the slightest attitude when dealing with a devotee. Just my opinion

prbarrera Yes, I understand their concern…I think and I was taken aback by what **FraLeones **stated.

Calling someone down like “greedy” whether a person/people are requesting from The Philippines or from America is totally uncalled-for and rude.

SonOfCarmel + Thanks and Praise be to God + Perhaps, Postulators are rude because of all the relic abuse that is going on. However, like I stated before there is no excuse for that. Not, everyone who requests relics will sell them online and if you (or anyone for that matter) browses through this particular thread I actually wanted to shut it down just for that reason. However, even if the Postulator, Order, or whomever decides not to send relics for their candidates please don’t be discouraged and take heart that that candidate for Sainthood is Praying for you – for all of us.

Hopefully, someone will contact you from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima.

SonOfCarmel It is uncertain to me how long you have waited for a reply, confirmation letter, or even the relics but please do take note that these things do take time and I don’t mean to be so blunt and rude in saying that. However, in some cases it only took a week and in another it took at least 6 months.

FraLeones, + Thanks and Praise be to God. +

I believe that the postulator (or vice postulator) has that kind of attitude, and has reasons why he or she has to be strict in entrusting other people relics.

Though it is not-so-very-good to “judge the book by its cover,” I believe one of the reasons, for me, is that the [vice] postulator, looks for the person’s appearance from head to toe.

He or she looks to the appearance of the person being entrusted to carry a saint, blessed, or candidate’s relic. If you look poorly dressed or more of a person who just “woke up in the morning,” I guess he or she will have second thoughts.

The relic should be well taken care of. If you don’t take care of yourself, even in a simple way, chances are that you may not take care of the relic at all.

If you’ll leave the relic just for display purposes and it’s never cleaned from dust (definitely careful to clean it if it’s first class since these are bones, hair, etc., of the saint, blessed or candidate), or eventually have cobwebs eventually, the [vice] postulator would be disappointed.

As I’m sure you know that unless you live in Rome, most of our contact with the postulators is through email or very rarely phone. So no to answer your question I don’t neglect my appearance or ever would give a postulator a reason to believe I wouldn’t “take care of a relic” I’m not sure where you’re getting these conceptions from. I have first class relics as well as second class relics.

I do my requests in email too.

Actually, I am also posting scenarios that may apply, in which we can find solutions for it. 🙂

Kindly provide me some time to post some possible reasons. My conceptions were from my head. I tried posting them before, but I passed the 20 minute limit of inactivity in this site. I tried to repost it, but to no avail.

Dear CAF,

Last Friday, I was overjoyed for I was very blessed to receive relics and prayer cards of the three saints/blesseds to whom I have a very special devotion.

a first class relic (ex capillis) of Blessed Maria Teresa of St. Joseph,

a relic of Blessed Emilie Tavernier Gamelin

http://i50.tinypic.com/29zssnk.jpg

and a 2nd class relic (ex vestimentis) of Blessed Elizabeth of Trinity.

Their relics remind me to live a life like that of Christ and the saints.

I would be actively spread their devotion and promote their cause of canonization in our country, the Philippines.

I thank God for this.

Let us pray for the canonization of the blesseds and give glory to the God and the saints.

God Bless!

-EDPChico

Thank you goforgoal, pbarrera, and FraLeones

You were all right after all. It is all about prayer and patience…

God Bless!

Peace be with you all!

May I humbly request this group to refrain from sharing addresses and contact informations about the postulations of the different causes. This is out of courtesy and respect to the owners of the contact information and at the same time so as not to provide informations to merchants selling relics on ebay. This forum can be easily surfed in the net and people with bad intention can easily request for relics which they can sell online.

For example, my email address here was posted and now i am bombarded with emails around the world with some using 2 names! I do not know the intention but why give one name now then a different one next time?!

If you want to have devotion to saints and blesseds, find the addresses yourself or ask someone personally. Do not broadcast it here please.

I expect and pray a fast resolution on this matter. God bless!

Dear capcerda and all CAF members,

I do agree with capcerda about posting contact addresses of congregations where people can request for relics without their permission. Aside from merchants on ebay can easily find out what the contact addresses are, it is also very unethical . People with bad intention will easily find out what the congregations’ addresses are and may commit many relic abuses, and sell them. Instead of spreading the devotion of saints and inspiring others, CAF becomes an avenue for people with bad intention to do their unjust acts.

It is also with the lack of moderation of CAF, instead of giving Catholic “answers” to users, people may get misled because the site admins do not even check every thread or post that may sometimes be against Catholic teachings. No site admin even tries to check if anybody in this sites violate Catholic teachings or laws, and often let it be and do not even do proper action. It may also be because of CAF’s huge number that’s why moderation is hard.

I hope all of you understand…

God Bless!

This is also the reason why I don’t post contact addresses and also as sign of respect.

I only visit CAF to discuss about many issues on Catholicism with other Catholics but I never post contact addresses.

God Bless!

capcerda & EDPChico Thank you for pointing this out as this has been a huge concern for me as well. It may not seem like it as you can see I have provided a lot of contact information.

However, I believe that Prayers, Devotions, and what not should be shared and I only wanted to share these holy materials with other people and I also didn’t want to “appear” like a braggart.* “Oh look at me I have relic a relic card of Blessed Mother Teresa Calcutta”* Hopefully, that makes sense on my part.

Please dont get me wrong capcerda & EDPChico I fully respect the Postulators, Congregations, Orders, and so forth and I take what you said to mind and heart.

It is such a blessing to receive holy materials whether it be a relic or a Prayer for the following candidates Beatification and Canonization. That is why I am lost for words as to why anyone would want to sell relics online.

So from now, I shall refrain contact information on the open public forums and I will ask each and everyone of you to either do an online search yourself for the contact information or if you like please PM me ← I may not be able to answer right away but I will eventually.

On the other hand, dearest CAF members on April. 27th, 2012, Friday The Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirm sent me a letter, two pamphlets on Servant of God, Mother. M. Angeline Teresa, O. Carm Society, a leaflet with brief biography with Prayer on the reverse side of Servant of God, Mother M. Angeline Teresa O.Carm, a Prayer card of Servant of God, Mother M. Angeline Teresa, O.Carm, and a badge that has been touched to Servant of God, Mother M. Angeline Teresa’s habit/clothing. ← It was clearly pointed out in the letter that since Mother. M. Angeline Teresa, O.Carm isn’t a Saint yet there are no relics of her.

God bless The Carmelite of the Aged and Infirm.

Please join me in Praying for the Beatification of Servant of God, Mother M. Angeline Teresa, O. Carm.
