Sydney, Jun. 13, 2008 (CWNews.com) - The relics of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will be taken to Sydney, Australia, for the celebration of World Youth Day there, at the request of the event’s organizers.
Pier Giorgio Frassati, born in 1901 into an influential family in Turin, won an extraordinary reputation for piety and social activism in his short life. Pope John Paul II (bio - news), who beatified him in 1990, referred to Blessed Pier Giorgio as “the man of the beatitudes.”
