On reflection of my post, I would like to apologise. It does appear in hostility, but I just believe religion is a massive “problem”. I realise it brings comfort to some, but in most cases it incites violence and war. I don’t believe religion and planet Earth can coexist for much longer, all because of what religion incites.

I find it sad.
atheistic regimes, mao, pol pot, stalin, vitenamese, nazis. etc have slaughtered more than 100 million in just the last century, you cant pin more than a few thousands over 2 millenia on our faith.

atheism is by far the true threat.

Is Atheism, along with homophobia, racism, misogyny, sexism and violence, condoned in the religious quantum?
“Homophobia” is a weasel word designed to pathologize the willingness to distinguish natural from disordered biological behavior. Racism, misogyny, sexism and volence are against clear and unequivocal unchanged Christian teaching. We are all one in Christ Jesus. There are religions that accept these, some even more so than most people would without a religion anyway.
Frankly, I do not respect those with religious affiliations.
That is obvious.
However, I am intrigued as to why they put their faith into such a hyperboloidal fictionalised, fairy-tale - The Bible.
The Bible is made-up. I.e. It is a work of ultimate fiction.
So many have struggled to demonstrate this and none has ever succeeded.
God lived in a fish?
God lives everywhere.
Eve was born from Adam’s rib?
Eve is the feminine side of the original human, Adam the masculine side. She separated from him at the heart, the final point of connection, because we are one.
Moses talked to a burning bush?
And in modern times visionaries have talked to the Lord in many forms.
I mean, come on! This is beyond fiction. It is ludicrously hilarious. There is more substance in, Jack and The Beanstalk.
I await your first demonstration of this assertion.
Those who believe in the Bible and follow the words of the Bible, are homophobic, misogynistic, racist and sexist, with an acceptance of violence.
False.
Are you happy with this?
I am very happy with the fact that the assertion is false.
Lastly, and more to the point. Religion is the sole reason planet Earth will die. We are destroying Earth in the name of religion!
Demonstrate this assertion, please. It has no basis in fact whatever and indeed is the very opposite of the truth in every possible sense. Religion, especially Christianity, is the main force protecting life, requiring lower consumption levels and speaking out to stop unjust wars of aggression. Furthermore, the Christian way of life, faith, hope and charity, chastity, honesty, work and respect for life, creates a virtuous, more sustainable form of community and therefore reduces crime, waste and homelessness.
It’s disturbing!
Anti-Christian prejudice is indeed disturbing.

You see Creationism/ID?

So, God created homosexuality as a part of nature? Why would he do that when the Bible is against it?
There is an imaginary debate among “Creationists” and “evolutionists”. Anyone who actually spends time on the subject eventually concludes that either all-or-nothing theory is absurd to the same extent and in the same way.
ID simply means an intelligence is behind the obvious design in the cosmos. Schroeinger, Einstein, and almost all the other big names in astrophysics, cosmology and molecular biology have come to various conclusions within the ID spectrum, from deciding there is a consciousness behind the laws of nature and the appearance of matter and energy but that this intelligence at some point or gradually let us go like a wind-up car, to belief in Genesis but with “days” understood in light of General Relativity. The universe is expanding. To a conscious entity who doesn’t expand with the universe, say, someone who doesn’t change, the universe’s first 7.4 billion years would pass in 24 subjective hours. That would be the period in which light appeared, darkness and light sorted out, matter took form and substance, fluid separated from solids; the first day. Day Two would pass for such an entity while the rest of the universe expanded at light speed for 3.7 billion years and solids increased as things cooled. At that time, the heavens took their general current shape as galaxies amassed, small debris was smashed by other debris and planets started orbiting suns. Just as the Bible says, the heavens took shape. Day Three was 1.8 billion years long, the time of the beginning of life on our planet, which, just as the Bible says, began in the water and with plants and flying insects. Day Four saw the development of creatures that had schedules and needed to know roughly what time it is, and this happened as it became possible, as earth’s atmosphere cleared enough to see the individual light sources in the heavens. That took 900 million years. Day Five, 450 million years long, but still 24 hours to the nonexpanding consciousness, brought mammals. The Bible agrees with modern science there too. And on Day Six, a mammal did something strange; During that period of 225 million years, a bunch of smart omnivores appeared quickly, as if for a purpose, and among them near the end of the day, one went beyond making simple tools, baskets and scratchy drawings of prey; he planned his life; he talked to God; he had a soul. A human immortal soul. And he was social. God gave him immortality, but with it the right to forfeit it for any reason. The first free, wise, spiritual, material life form was in the scene: humanity. Due to his loneliness, God cloned him, altered the genes so that the original human would be masculine, the duplicate feminine, and then God engineered the die-off of the prehominids to prevent the couple from taking these members of slightly different species as mates. Ancient stories attest to this precaution. Our ancestors chose death and separation from God as the price they were willing to pay to be their own gods. We inherited that as we did our countries of birth and similarly have to take a step to change our citizenship back.
One result of Original Sin is the distortion of nature. Predation is heavier. Parasitism is more difficult to avoid. We have children later in gestation, while less healthy ourselves, making childbirth frighteningly painful instead of a short task as it is for some animals now. Animals and humans abuse infants, make war against their own for bad reasons and even become attracted to those they can’t mate successfully with, such as the same sex, close relatives, the too-young, the deceased, inanimate objects, themselves, and other species, and some lose their desire to mate entirely.

As creatures with free will we have a duty to try to overcome such distortions.

Why do you say the world will end because of religion? Is it because of the wars waged in its name? I tell you, blood is spilt for only one thing, Love. Love of self, love of money, love of pride, or, love of country, love of God, what have you. Love always leads to bloodshed.

From The Romance of Orthodoxy, Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton

“…Love desires personality; therefore love desires division. It is the instinct of Christianity to be glad that God has broken the universe into little pieces, because they are living pieces. It is her instinct to say “little children love one another” rather than to tell one large person to love himself. This is the intellectual abyss between Buddhism and Christianity; that for the Buddhist or Theosophist personality is the fall of man, for the Christian it is the purpose of God, the whole point of his cosmic idea. The world-soul of the Theosophists asks man to love it only in order that man may throw himself into it. But the divine centre of Christianity actually threw man out of it in order that he might love it. The oriental deity is like a giant who should have lost his leg or hand and be always seeking to find it; but the Christian power is like some giant who in a strange generosity should cut off his right hand, so that it might of its own accord shake hands with him. We come back to the same tireless note touching the nature of Christianity; all modern philosophies are chains which connect and fetter; Christianity is a sword which separates and sets free. No other philosophy makes God actually rejoice in the separation of the universe into living souls. But according to orthodox Christianity this separation between God and man is sacred, because this is eternal. That a man may love God it is necessary that there should be not only a God to be loved, but a man to love him. All those vague theosophical minds for whom the universe is an immense melting-pot are exactly the minds which shrink instinctively from that earthquake saying of our Gospels, which declare that the Son of God came not with peace but with a sundering sword. The saying rings entirely true even considered as what it obviously is; the statement that any man who preaches real love is bound to beget hate. It is as true of democratic fraternity as a divine love; sham love ends in compromise and common philosophy; but real love has always ended in bloodshed. Yet there is another and yet more awful truth behind the obvious meaning of this utterance of our Lord. According to Himself the Son was a sword separating brother and brother that they should for an aeon hate each other. But the Father also was a sword, which in the black beginning separated brother and brother, so that they should love each other at last…”

It seems quite silly to blame wars on religion. If anything, you should blame selfishness and greed.

I’d also like to say that the rampant disbelief amongst modern liberals (not that anyone here is one) is one of the most restrictive things out there. We are free to believe the world was made in seven days, in seventy, in seventy billion years. But the modern liberal says that it must have occured in seventy billion, and no less.

The modern liberal says there are no miracles, because the natural laws must remain unbroken. The Christian says that the Divine will is the creator of such “laws”, and is not subject to them. Is it more free to say that such things can never occur? “Never” is a far more oppressive statement than “possibly…” Unbelief is always more restrictive than belief.
