Genesis 4:3-5

"3 In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, 4 and Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, 5 but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. "

Just to clear this up. Abel killed animals! He offer a portion of their fat to God, the other portion he eat it!! 😃

Love,
Gloria

.
Gloria,

Why are you manipulating the words of the Bible !!!
Where on heavens and earth that verse said that Abel ate the other portion!!!
Abel simply killed the animals for the offering, that verse does not state otherwise!!!

 What, do you think that he throw in the rubbish the other portion:confused:

Any way this is what you said about Abel keeping animals, no?😃
Hey , that was for the milk not the meat !!!
That neither is stated in the text, are you also manipulating words of the Bible

😉 Nice move Gloria

However, this is from your neighbors encyclopedia:
These were wholly animal, and the victims were wholly consumed.” (i.e., no portions), and that was after the flood, so imagine the case during Abel days…

On the other side, I mentioned “milk” as a logical reason because there is no contradiction to it in the Bible, on the contrary to the “meat” in your case.

OK… you are not going to quote to me the rules and regulations for sacrifices that Moses gave to the people, are you??? We are talking about the beginning, the sons of Adam and Eve…

You should be happy because this can be translated that Abel brought also an offering from the firstborn of his flock and from their milk!!! 😃 The word that they translated as fat or portions of… in the RSV, is the Masoretic text, which set the pointing to the Hebrew words and gave a meaning that was more permanent, but not the best in every case.👍

You see, not always I win!! :crying:

As for the rest of your reasoning, it does not sound appealing…😦

In the love of the truth,

Are you sure about that! did you confirm that by a doctor?

Because people had lived for over 1656 years without meat…
I would like to point out that, as a person who has also had health issues without meat, not everybody has 😉

My ancestors came mainly from northern Germany, Scandinavia, Scotland areas. If they could not eat meat in the past, they would not have survived to this day. Thus my metabolism works likewise. Why pass a rule that would have killed so many people? 🤷

I’m surprised no one had mentioned Daniel yet. Clearly he was onto something when he put the servants on an all vegan diet.

Daniel 1:11-16
Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over him: “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. So the guard took away their meat and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.

Thanks for pointing this out. I don’t think I’ve ever heard this before…👍
