Remembering trauma

I was raped at age 10, and although I’ve dealt with it somewhat with counseling, the memory has been resurfacing the past couple of weeks. This morning after I attended mass I remembered it very vividly, to the point where I almost passed out. I suppose it was a flashback. I am home now, just resting for today. I would really appreciate all of your prayers to help me through this difficult time. Thanks and God bless.
Dear God of endless love,
ever caring, ever strong,
always present, always just:
You gave your only Son
to save us by the Blood of His Cross.
Gentle Jesus, shepherd of peace,
Join our anguishing souls to your own suffering
the pain of all who have been hurt
in Body, Mind, and Spirit
by those who betrayed the trust placed in them.
Hear our cries as we agonize
over the harm done to our brothers and sisters.
Breathe wisdom into our prayers,
soothe restless hearts with hope,
steady shaken spirits with faith:
Show us the way to justice and wholeness,
enlightened by truth and enfolded in your mercy.
Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts,
heal your people’s wounds
and transform our brokenness.
Grant us courage and wisdom, humility and grace,
so that we may act with justice
and find peace in you.
We ask this Healing through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.

Merciful Father, You have called Judith to a state of sanctification in our presence. This miracle of love stands as evidence of Your infinite love of mankind. Out of that endless storehouse of love, we beseech You to grant her spiritual healing, furthered along by a heart of forgiveness. Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is the Divine Physician, and the source of all life and health. Through His perfect intercession, may Judith’s relationship with Him increase until the traumas of her past are only a distant memory, faintly recalled only as if peering into a cloud. May the joy of our Savior’s birth lead Judith to renewed joy in her heart, as she abandons herself to Your Divine Providence in all matters of time and eternity. Grant this through the same Lord Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end.
Amen

Divine Mercy
Eternal God,
in whom mercy is endless
and the treasury of compassion
  • inexhaustible,
    look kindly upon us
and increase Your mercy in us,
    that in difficult moments
    we might not despair
    nor become despondent,
    but with great confidence
submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is Love and Mercy itself.
    Amen

HEALING AND RENEWAL
Lord Jesus Christ,
most Holy Redeemer,
you make all things new.
Your word promises:
Whoever is in Christ has become a new creation.
The old has passed away;
behold the new has come.
Renew us, and heal us with your love.
Make new my mind:
let me see life and death,
time and eternity,
this world and beyond,
with the eyes of faith.
Make new my will:
let me walk more loyally
in the way of your commandments.
Renew us, and heal us with your love.
Make new my heart:
let me love your truly
and love others for your sake.
Make new, Lord Jesus, my whole life:
let there be no more sin,
no more compromise,
but only devotion to you.
Renew us, and heal us with your love.
I bring to you, dearest Lord,
my life and it is, my hopes and dreams,
my struggles and pains,
my fears, anxieties and addictions,
my hurts, my talents,
my achievements, my disappointments
and my sickness.
I bring to you all whom I love.
I entrust all to you
and with confident faith I take heart;
for you make all things new.
Renew us, and heal us with your love.

Amen.

Lord, on this, her first Christmas as a Christian, grant Judith a spirit-filled celebration of the birth of her Savior. Father, as your mercy and love have been exhibited to us in the birth of Your Son, so also is it shown to us in the journey that Judith has made in these few short months. May the grace that has brought her thus far carry her to the fulfillment of Your will for her life. Fill her spirit with joy, leaving no room for remembrances which are used by the evil one to defeat her. Graciously hear our prayers on Judith’s behalf, through the perfect intercession of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Whose birth we honor and celebrate on this day of blessing. Amen! Alleluia!

Dear Lord,
Judith comes to You burdened with worries,
fears, doubts and troubles from the past.
Calm and quiet her with peace of mind.
Empty her of the anxiety that disturbs her,
of the concerns that weary her spirit,
and weight heavy on her heart.
Loosen her grip on the visions she has.
Release her from the pain of past hurts,
of present anger and tension,
of future fears.
Sometimes it’s too much for her Lord,
too many demands and problems,
too much sadness, suffering, and stress.
Renew her spiritually and emotionally.
Give her new strength, hope, and confidence.
Prepare her to meet the constant struggles
of daily life with a deeper faith and trust in You.
Let your love set her free, for peace,
for joy, for grace, for life,
for others, forever.

Amen.
