I am man enough to admit when I’m wrong, and I was wrong about Paul Ryan.
I thought he was a man of values and principles but he just another GOP, RINO hack.
It’s getting so, that we are heading toward a one party State.

Whatever Ryan is saying now about gay adoption, and whatever Romney said on the issue, my guess is neither of those two men would be speaking at a Planned Parenthood gathering and saying “God bless Planned Parenthood.” Romney and Ryan were vastly better than Obama and Biden, in spite of what Ryan just said about gay adoption. Disappointed in Ryan? Fine. But don’t let your disappointment and cynicism lead you to think that “they’re all the same. it doesn’t matter who you vote for.” It matters a great deal: look at who we have in the white house now and what he is doing to our country.

Such cynicism makes pro-choice supporting Catholic Democrats smile ear to ear. They like it when a portion of pro-lifers spurn the good because they aren’t perfect and vote for nobodies. It gets the real challengers out of the way, so they can find another Obama.

Thanks, rlg. In addition to it mattering a lot who you vote for, it also matters a lot who you don’t vote for. When good people don’t vote for a candidate because of something like what Ryan is saying, then it allows an Obama to prevail. And you are right - the Planned Parenthood catholics love it when they see pro-life voters neutralized by their insistence on perfection or goofy support for fringe candidates. That makes it easier to elect Planned Parenthood candidates and protect abortion rights. The secular left also loves it when the opposition is divided.

I agree with your comment, but Paul Ryan supporting homosexuals adopting children is not compatible with Catholic teaching and that puts him at odds with Catholic teaching.

This is a little hard to believe coming from Paul Ryan. Then again, he is mainly a fiscal conservative, but still…Further, he supports gay adoption but NOT gay marriage. Does that make much sense? Of course, politicians don’t need to make sense.

Paul Ryan “sipping the soup”. Well, that justifies one’s vote for the most pro-abortion, marriage-destructive political party in U.S. history, doesn’t it? Interesting perhaps that his statment was awfully limited. What did he mean, exactly. He didn’t say “a same-sex couple”. He said it in the singular. Does he mean a single, chaste homosexual, or something wider? We don’t know. Possibly he’ll expand on the statement, perhaps not.

But the abortion-supporters (same thing as Democrat Party supporters) do enjoy counseling despair to those who are prolife and pro-marriage. While I personally believe Ryan is nothing more than a local candidate after the 2012 election, and in no way a likely presidential contender, ever, I do think it’s remarkable how the pro-abortion (pro-Obama, same thing) people methodically scour every utterance of their opposition in order to cause prolife people and pro-marriage people to despair. They’re very good at it. But then, they have George Soros’ “Media Matters” aid in this.

What prolife and pro-marriage people ought to realize is that it’s not anywhere near as important who they vote FOR as it is who they vote AGAINST in this increasingly pagan society. If Ryan was a national candidate, it is still the prolife and pro-marriage thing to do to vote for him as against somebody like Obama or Obama’s successor.

I asked the question because Julianna said, “a politician is a politician is a politician”. I suspect her aim was to convince Republicans that they might as well vote Democrat. So I reversed it using her same reasoning.
