Repenting question

You stated that the person “rejected Catholic teaching” and on his deathbed “had a change of heart”.

Your OP was ambiguous as to whether that “change of heart” included repenting for rejecting the Catholic Faith and whether when he confesses “to God his apologies for everything” rejecting the Faith is included in that apology for “everything”.

So, it was important to ask for clarification.
Fair enough. Someone had asked before why I asked this question, and the reason is I wanted to make a point for one thing. As well as to confirm what I already kind of knew to begin with.

That is that someone can come to God in the most sincere way, repenting of their past (as this man does), and yet according to the Church, just because he does not join with “Mother Church”, or repent of rejecting the “true Church of Christ”, all of a sudden his sincere coming to Christ isn’t good enough for salvation. To say that is borderline heresy, and completely contradicts God’s Word.
Christ and his Church are One.
Only in the sense that His Church exists whereever there is a believer in Him, and said believer follows His word, then yes. But as far as a physical Church, no.

have plenty of reasons why I am no longer a Catholic. All of which I feel are legitimate as any other, and I wholeheartedly stand by them.
What happened ajk? I thought you had recently converted to Catholicism, and that it had been a good experience for you.

Can you share why you feel the way you do?

That’s just it-- he isn’t sincere in “coming to Christ” if he rejects the Church knowingly. That was the sin of Satan, after all-- “I refuse to serve”.

In the case of one who does *not *know the Truth of the Church, he could conceivably be reconciled within the limits of imperfect knoweledge.

Which is why we clearly state only God knows his heart.

That contradicts Scripture.

See this is what I take issue with, you are basically saying that simply calling on Christ in his case is not good enough, when the Bible says differently.
That’s right…call on Him and follow Him too. My Bible is some 2000+ pages long and it tells me to believe the Church to boot. So your simplification is a little incomplete.

What is your purpose here? The best I can garner is that you want everyone to know you refuse to follow Christ if that means being in the Catholic Church. Am I wrong?

Instead of saying “I will never ever ever return to the Catholic Church” and broadcast a personal barrier you have set for yourself, I recommend phrasing the future of your faith more along the lines of “I will always always do my best to follow Christ.” Other Protestants, would you agree with my advice??

well Marco has a point you dont wanna start in anger, you need to let that go. It may take a bit. If you do start with another church you should try to at least mend the fence where you left, if its possible. Hate is like acid, it destroys what it touches and the container.
