Long overdue.

If this ends in a “fine” expect nothing to happen as a result of this.

(If they merely end up getting “fined”,
YOU get fined instead.

Why? Because the costs merely get passe on to YOU by Facebook (and/or their customers, who would then pass the fine on to you even if you don’t use facebook.

You didn’t think Zuck went down to his safe in the basement and pull out HIS money
to pay such “fines” did you?)

A recent report claims that a group of at least 40 states led by New York is set to file an antitrust lawsuit against Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook as early as next week.

A recent report from CNBC states that sources believe that a lawsuit could be filed against social media giant Facebook as early as next week. A group of 40 states led by New York have been investigating Facebook for possible antitrust violations and plans to file a lawsuit against the company, according to four sources.

The lawsuit would be the second major case taken against a major tech firm this year following the Justice Department’s lawsuit against Google in October. Over 40 states reportedly plan to sign on to the Facebook lawsuit one source said, but would not provide the list of states. . . . .

That’s economics for you!

Back when I used to eat at salad bars, I’m pretty sure the cost of the ingredients that I don’t put on my salad were considered in the price of using the salad bar.

Anytime.

Not sure how this will go. The case is said to be about acquisitions. But given that Facebook went through the process of getting approval from the FTC and the Justice Department for the purchases the arguments labeling the purchase as a violation might be a bit muddled.
