Arrests are public records. Let’s see how they are reported.

If they include whites connected to white supremacists, this will be shouted from the rooftops all over everywhere with the person’s name blasted out for everyone to hear and see.

If they include whites connected to Antifa, this will be memory holed quickly. Got to keep that white supremacist narrative out there. Which they can do as long as they can keep the truth hidden. Like they did with the Russian collusion hoax.

Don’t forget that Biden campaign workers, among others, donated to organizations dedicated to paying bail for the arrested. Surely they would not want to pay for white supremacists to make bail, would they?

They say the difference between CNN and the Trump administration is that
What idiots are “they”?

One is supposed to be a new organization, the other not.

CNN rarely admits their journalistic errors, and they all seem to go in one direction

This new brand of sarcasm isn’t working for you, @StudentMI.

There was no sarcasm in what I or Pasolini wrote. I’m serious. I’d love to see what Pasolini would say on this topic. Sadly, we’ll never know.

Wow! Thanks for posting that insight Theo520.

Here is more on that if anyone is interested . . .

Pair of Brooklyn lawyers including Ivy League corporate attorney charged in Molotov cocktail attack on NYPD cruiser

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS |

MAY 31, 2020

Two Brooklyn lawyers, including an Ivy League graduate corporate attorney, are facing federal charges over accusations they tossed a Molotov cocktail into an NYPD vehicle early Saturday morning during a protest over the police killing of George Floyd.

Colinford Mattis, 32, a corporate lawyer and member of Community Board 5 in East New York, was charged along with fellow attorney Urooj Rahman with the attempted attack on an empty police cruiser parked outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene. . . .

Someone could argue . . .

“Well look. The police cruiser was empty so it is not that big of a deal”.

But we have seen it IS a big deal (here) out in Washington where people stole guns out of a destroyed police cruiser and began indiscriminately shooting them.
. . . "Rioters in Seattle reportedly had stolen two loaded AR-15s out of a smashed Seattle Police Department cruiser lit on fire earlier in the evening. Someone started firing one weapon into vehicles, sending crowds of protesters running from the scene. . . ."
But even aside from that happening, this destruction is NOT OK.

This sort of thing is why some mistrust the police.

" Among the hundreds of protesters arrested over the four days of demonstrations in New York City over the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, only one was highlighted by name by a police union known for its hostility toward Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The name of that protester? Chiara de Blasio, the mayor’s daughter.

The union, the Sergeants Benevolent Association, used Twitter to post a police report documenting the arrest on Saturday night of Ms. de Blasio, 25.

The Police Department does not normally release internal police reports, and Ms. de Blasio’s contained personal details, including her height, weight, address, date of birth and driver’s license information.

The post was removed for violation of Twitter rules, and the union’s account was suspended Monday morning."

Theo you are good with political commentary. Here is what I am thinking about now Trump is going to send in the military.
It also has to do with guns.

One big argument for guns is that if the government ever turns on the people with military, they have guns for defense.

Where do you think that sits at the moment. I have not seen gun rioting or protesting bringing people up to this point.
I worry now, in the direction this is heading

I don’t think Trump will do anything but bluster.

But his bluster may cajole the various Governors to take charge and control their chaos. There seems no broad public support for rioting and looting, even by BLM protestors

Ellison now blames Trump for his antifa comment (saying Ellison declaring his support for antifa was a “comment about the absurdity of the president’s comment more than anything else.”) . . . .

Keith Ellison Brushes Off Son’s Support for Antifa: ‘That Was a Comment About the Absurdity of the President’s Comment’

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Monday dismissed his son’s overt declaration of support for the so-called anti-fascist group Antifa, brushing it off as a “comment about the absurdity of the president’s comment more than anything else.”

Administration leaders have pointed out that many of the violent riots dominating U.S. cities have embraced Antifa-like tactics, sowing civil discord by attacking officers, looting businesses, and setting structures on fire. . . .

. . . Ellison’s son, a Minneapolis city council member, on Sunday professed support for Antifa on social media, as violence and destruction continued to rattle U.S. cities . . .

. . . The elder Ellison brushed off his son’s declaration, telling CNN that it was “a comment about the absurdity of the president’s comment more than anything else.” . . .

. . . Ellison’s dismissal of his son’s strong support for Antifa does not come as a surprise, as Ellison openly expressed support for the radical group in 2018.

“At @MoonPalaceBooks and I just found the book that strike [sic] fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump,” Ellison wrote in a now-deleted tweet alongside a photo of himself holding the book Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook . . . .

Probably, I heard that unless a governor specifically requests federal troops, army, whatever would be the correct term, the president can not unilaterally send them.

State governors have the front line responsibility for law and order in their respective states. Hence they are the ultimate authority with the responsibility for calling the National Guard. The president doesn’t call the Guard, that is the state’s responsibility. A mayor can ask his governor to call in the Guard and the governor does not have to look over his shoulder for approval before he sends them out.

If a state governor feels he needs more than the Guard can give him, he can ask the president. Or he can ask a neighbor state for help.

So if one is observing a failure to maintain order somewhere, gotta start with the local law enforcement, then the mayor, then the governor.

If Trump does follow through with military force , do people then have the right under constitution to brandish guns.

I should probably start a new thread on this topic

Right, that’s the guard.

I was talking about the army, military police

I don’t think he has the right to invoke military force, unless there was a legit national emergency. This doesn’t qualify since it’s localized and all the governors are responding, some just better than others.

Naturally home owners have the right to protect themselves, completely independent of Trump bluster. Locally authorities have requested people keep their guns at home, if they are patrolling their neighborhood. They can only make the request.

Trump can invoke an act from 1807
“He said he may invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act, which permits a president to deploy military inside the U.S. to deal with civil disorder.”
