You mean not yet.

The leaders of the CC has been saying for years for us to respect all religions. there we have it. That is the result.

Thta is what I was saying, actually. Protestants are Christian, but IMPERFECT Christians. They have an imperfect understanding of God.

You all are seeing the problem but not the solution. The Catholic Church and a line of Popes have all supported the Fatima Prophecies. The chastisement is going to happen. Whether its in the next five years or the next five hundred. Our Lady Mary has warned us several times of the growing anger God has for this world and it falling away from Him. Whether that be through other belief sets or the non belief system that is secularization. Our Holy Mother has promised us that if russia is not consecrated to her Heart than God would punish the world and in its aftermath a great conversion would begin. The growing evil in this world is a sign of our failings yes, but that does not mean that atheists or islamists will win. The gates of hell will NEVER prevail against the Catholic Church. We are promised this by Christ Himself! Do what you can to stay strong in the faith, evangelize those around us, be open and loving to those we can not and pray pray pray! This world is in for a rude awakening sooner or later. Would it not be best at the end of our lives when we stand before judgement to be able to say that despite our own personal failings here and there, and our own struggles throughout our lives, that we gave it one hundred percent in trying to spread the word of God? Anyways I’m more concerned, personally, with the secularization of america than I am with the growing strength of islam in europe. Islam will spread slowly but surely, but that can still be addressed in time with careful consideration by the Vatican as to how best to intercede in a way that maximizes the potential for conversion and minimizes the threat of violence for those living in muslim communities by making radical pushes against them. As for secularization america is already consumed. I’ve made many rants against the evils of america but ITS NOT TOO LATE to save this once beautiful country. Don’t be so quick to condemn the apathy of Europe when america has fallen from grace (as a whole) so quickly that its simply apalling. And not to delve into politics but I’m all for amnesty. Some people, Catholics even, are so quick to want to cast out all the illegal mexicans when they don’t realize that these Godfearing people are americas lifeline. This country is on lifesupport and kicking them out is pulling the plug, not just financially but culturally and especially religiously. Americans are known nowadays as a majority secular people. Mexicans are still a majority Catholic. We NEED them in this country to help sway public opinion and regain things for Christ that were taken away. Things as simple as being able to say merry christmas at school without fear of reprisal. Or to be able to trust your child to kindergarten without fear of them being forced to read a book about a rabbit with two dads. Fix yourselves before you seek to fix others. If we don’t stand on solid footing, how can we hope to move the minds and hearts of others?

I fight it by proclaiming my faith, openly, proudly and without fear.

Like this, but without anger, malice, hatred or contempt. We should be very public, and well informed in our faith. Too many times I see people think they have the upper hand, or, are ‘right’ because the person they ask about our faith is uninformed. The need to be able to defend the Truth.
I agree with you Charlotte. Many people are very apathetic about the Church and religion in general. The way the secularists win time and again is by good Christians not speaking out and just by letting them have their way. Think of how many Christian traditions have been done away with in the public arena. No prayer in schools, no Nativity scenes on public property, Easter celebrations reduced to nothing more than egg hunts and stuffed bunnies.
Maybe we can’t make a huge difference on our own, but we can do things like saying Grace before eating at a restaurant or making a point of telling a troubled person that you’ll pray for them. Every bit helps. I recently prayed for an unemployed relative ()who’s fallen away from church) to find a job. When he got a job, I made a point of telling him that I prayed to Our Lord and also to St. Joseph that he would find work. Don’t know how much of an impression this made on him, but I felt like I should witness to him and remind him that God cares. We have to be more open in public with our faith.

How do you report people? I hate football! 😛

Nature definitely abhors a vacuum…apparently so does religion.
Great observation. This faux war between Christianity and Islam strikes me rather pointless because it is glaringly obvious that if we practiced our faith the way we are supposed to, there would be very little to worry about. It’s not their fault if Church bells have fallen silent while morning calls to prayer ring out…

Mexico is becoming more secular. I would say that it is mostly the secular mexicans that might be the ones that are causing problems, or the nominally catholic. The devoted religious most likely are the hard working ones that are just trying to make a better life for their children.
