Let’s pray for peace concerning the current situation in Hong Kong.

Agree let’s pray the violent rioters will turn away from sin and repent. Salute to the riot police for all their hard work in protecting the peace in HK.

The Bible, it seems to me. That’s the second weapon, the first being the rosary if he has it.
“Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:10-18)

How can you know what is in the bag? How do we know this is a Priest? How do we know what the intentions of this person are.

Whenever I travel by plane, with a person in a habit or a cassock, we are not searched and waved straight through customs, or check points. The rest of the travel contingent suffers the usual bag searches. My point is until that person says hey it was me, Father so and so, we cant know. And if it truly is a Priest, he would be in grave danger now he has outed himself given the religious policies of China.
And Father so and so, may just have weapons in that bag.

Doesn’t it say so in the title of the article? I generally don’t trust mainstream media - I do have some trust though in this forum as far as news and information go…
If the priest is risking his life, the more believable to me this piece of information is. It wouldn’t be the first Christian to risk his life for his faith/Jesus and it won’t be the last.

Please read the article. It says a person dressed in white

Pictures from the demonstrations in Kennedy Town show the lone man dressed in white holding a carrier bag as he walks and then stops to look at the dozens of police officers behind barriers.

If it is truly a Catholic Priest, not sanctioned by the government, he is now in grave danger, pray for him.

Oh, I see. I didn’t think it might be a set-up, I just trusted the thread title.

There was a situation here in Poland, Białystok, not long ago. A pride parade. And the resistance came, soccer fans, Catholics, and some other groups. Later it turned out it was a planned provocation to make the paraders look like victims… and to paint their opposition as aggressors.
Still, I am convinced, some of the protesters had no idea about it, and genuinely wanted to protest and resist the multicolored activists…

I will pray for him, I pray for all the priests, whenever I remember, and daily for those of my parish. If that person is really a Catholic priest then he is in physical danger, yes, but he’s also likely to go straight to Heaven if he is martyred.

Yes, he is indeed in grave danger from the rioters. Luckily the Hong Kong police is world class. So I don’t think he will be martyred by the rioters, I think the police will protect him. May God bless the police force, Amen.

Psalm 11:5

"The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked,

hates those who love violence"

May all Christians stand up to violence and bring peace to all.

He was starring down the police not the rioters. Because the police used tear gas against the rioters and he showed them that he is not afraid to stand against the police of this world.

Not sure who is afraid of Hong Kong police. Definitely not the violent rioters. Definitely not the silent majority of Hong Kong. Definitely not me. I would happily go up to the police in his position and not be afraid. It is the violent rioters that one needs to be afraid of. Not sure what this supposed priest is trying to do. Probably just get a photo opportunity for the media of the West to continue to mislead the public of the West. Anyone who is aware of what is really happening in Hong Kong will probably draw my same conclusion.

Looks like history is repeating itself, and I don’t blame you. I blame the media and their backers.

Oh how I wish people can be unblinded and the truth be upheld, need to continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us towards the truth path.

Correct. Happy anytime to have a reasonable debate as adults supported by facts.

“What does he have in the bag?”

Candies, I guess. To be distributed to all protesters and police in order to spread the love of God. 🤣😂🤣

Just to lighten things up a bit.

I saw a classic photo where it shows about 30 journalists (you can tell who they are because they all wear yellow vests) all congregating in front of police force to take photos but on the protest side, only about 5 journalists were there. No wonder people have that impression.

I’ll post it when I find it.

Here they are, taken at the same time, when both sides are just quietly preparing. Top photo you can see police at the back. Lots of time to manufacture however many solitary figures and any pose or any evocative stance you want to make. Probably ample time on the spot to perfect that stare you want to make. 😂 So nothing heroic, but I have to say it does have artistic value given all that effort in preparation.
