Interesting that publication bans are so easily circumvented by the internet. I wonder if this will affect the court process in future cases.

Well it wasn’t circumvented because of the internet. It was circumvented because someone talked to a journalist, when they were directed not to do so.

Let us compare these two cases. multiple women have accused Bill Cosby of drugging tehm and having sex with them while they were passed out.
In the case of Cardinal Pell, he is accused of molesting two choir boys as he was leaving mass in the sacristy on Sunday. The prosecution would have us believe that he did this in a open area which is how the sacristy was arranged. The children were part of a group that was singing at mass yet the choir director did not notice them missing. While the cardinal was never alone he would have had to do this while wearing his episcopal vestments under circumstances which are physically impossible without anyone noticing anything.

At this time it is blocked from view by the Australian authorities. This is one of the reasons I believe in the cardinal’s innocence and the bad will of the Australian prosecutor.

Yes, from everything I have seen, it is difficult for me to take this verdict as the final word in the matter.

I am skeptical. Not saying he can’t be guilty, and not saying this is definitive proof of anything, but I do recall reading an article by I think George Weigel when Pell was accused and he fiercely defended Cardinal Pell as a man of honor and integrity. Again, anyone can be duped into blindness in regards to the criminal activity/deviancy of a friend, but George Weigel’s opinion, the original dubiousness of the accusations before the gag order, and the lack of any contemporary accusations make me a bit skeptical. I would just like to actually see the full story/evidence.

Perhaps there’s evidence that we are missing, but from what I’ve read it sounds almost impossible that the Cardinal would have had the opportunity to commit these crimes.
