Yesterday our pastor announced that, unlike past years, the Blessed Sacrament would not be in the church after the Holy Thursday mass. Instead, it would be in the adoration chapel. He said that this was being done to conform with the “Directives of the Liturgy” that state that the Blessed Sacrement should reside outside of the church after the mass. Given that the pastor and liturgy committee have a history of breaking, rather than enforcing rules (i.e. they’re moving the priest and deacon onto the floor of the church and putting the baptismal font and easter candle behind the alter for Easter season), a number of us are wondering where this instruction can be found. We’re also concerned because the chapel seats about a dozen people, and last year there were over 100 people in the church for the 3 hours after the mass ended.
