There’s a lot of work still left to do, especially getting rid of Obamacare and overturning his executive orders (completely unconstitutional).

President Bush signed the ban on partial birth abortions in 2005. That was put through Congress when both houses were Republican. He also reinstated the Reagan policy called the “Mexico City” policy which prevents US aid from being used for abortions.

Even when both Houses of Congress are in control of one party, that doesn’t mean that anti-abortion legislation will be the number one priority. The GOP has had a number of moderates on social issues, which means that some of them will vote with their Democrat compatriots.

As you know, it’s not easy to pass legislation in our governmental structure. And Roe v. Wade was never law until the SCOTUS legislated from the bench and made it into law.

But restrictions against abortion continue to be passed on a state level, which is completely constitutional. Rather than challenging Roe v. Wade head-on, it is better to undermine it gradually and use the power of the 10th Amendment to eventually rid our nation of this horror.

Also, 40 Days for Life is having a tremendous effect on abortion clinics. Many abortion industry workers are leaving for good, and clinics are closing down all over the country. Crisis pregnancy centers remain open. I have every confidence that one day, Americans will look back upon this period of our history as a horrible evil that we eventually with the help of God, set right again.

I would actually go so far as to say that OBAMA is more pro life than Mitt Romney, because I believe he was sincere when he told the Pope that he wants to do whatever he can to reduce the number of abortions (the demand for abortions).

Mitt Romney? For all we know, he is still secretly committed to his promise to protect a woman’s right to choose that he made when he was running for office in Massachusetts.

Not to mention the fact that Mitt Romney isn’t even a Christian, so his concept of “pro-life” could mean any number of things. (he wants all babies to live forever on planet Kolob?) whatever.

Truthfully, I agree with everything you say, Ana. Cardinal Dolan means well, of course, but I think he’s put on ideological blinders like most people on these forums have. In some ways, Romney reminds me of Nehemiah Scudder from Heinlein’s novel Revolt In 2100.

Seeker, I give you credit for being an intelligent poster, so you know how legislation works. No president, of either party, can wave a magic wand and will a “law” away. It has to go thru a process. It has more chance under GOP than Dems.

I will await a claim that the man who refused to allow BORN babies to have medical treatment, who change the Mexico City policy as his first act, who didn’t want his daughters “punished with a baby” who tried to force workers to participate in abortion against their conscious, who is waging war on religious freedom by forcing us to provide abortofacient drugs, sterilization and contraception for free…is more Pro Life than Romney?

I agree. I don’t think Romney is as lacking in charisma as many say, but I would take an actual automaton with his experience over a skilled orator with Obama’s inabilities.

Bingo! What frustrates me to no end is the devotees to Obama are able to look past his destructive policies,the damage they have already done. Please can any of you tell me what he has accomplished in nearly four years that has been beneficial? This goes beyond who wins,in my opinion,if Obama gets another term,we all lose,America loses

Read some of the success stories. Did you know that the DIRECTOR of a PP clinic in Bryan TX actually walked out of her job (and she was slated to become director of the LARGEST PP in the Western Hemisphere located in Houston), came over to the 40 Day for Life office, and has since converted to Catholicism? Her name is Abby Johnson, and her testimony is powerful! PP tried to silence her but failed.

She’s got her own campaign called “And Then There Were None,” which is specifically directed toward those working inside abortion clinics.

after what I’ve seen at the convention, I’m definitely NOT voting for Romney.

I’m sure he won over the Republicans (finally, LOL) well, not all of them.

Well, I used to be republican, then independent, but now specifically because of Romney and Ryan, I’m leaning towards voting for Obama as an anti-Romney vote.

I’m not alone. Trust me.

Many conservatives especially Evangelicals, cannot tolerate the thought of a Mormon President. They won’t vote for Obama, but they will certainly consider a third party. Hello “spoilers”. LOL

How can you think of voting for Obama if, as you strongly suggest, the pro-life issue is so important to you? If you believe Romney is not pro-life, you surely can’t believe that Obama is. (Not that I object to your voting for Obama, being a supporter of his myself; however, your position seems inconsistent to me.)

oh, he masquerades as an angel of light, but do you know what this whole “health of the mother” really boils down to?

ABORTION ON DEMAND. yep. don’t let anyone deceive you. All they need to do is get a psychologist to write a note that says the pregnancy is endangering their mental health. That’s it.

Don’t vote for someone who just pays lip service to a good cause. Look at their DEEDS, and their record on the issue.

If you vote for Mitt Romney, do it because you like his hair, or you hate social security, but NOT because you think he is PRO LIFE.
