It has been theorized by some that the Democrat convention will be an abortion-fest w/out ever using the word “abortion”. Would any prayer offered have to be pre-approved?

How do they plan to avoid the word “abortion” if the president of NARAL is one of the speakers? She wouldn’t have anything else to talk about unless it was an excercise in using a thesaurus.

I am very concerned to learn of Cardinal Dolan giving benediction at GOP conference.I am very worried for the way the catholic church is being led in America in recent years.
May God guide us all

I too am concerned about the way the Catholic Church is being led in America, but I sure as heck would rather see a Catholic Cardinal giving a blessing and conferring its fruits at a GOP Party Convention then at a convention of a party that is actively pursuing policies against Holy Mother Church and the Truth She teaches. Obama’s policies are a danger to the Faith and the faithful and to the lives of the unborn. Nice guy, but unfortunately that’s just a superficial cover to win votes. Know your Faith well and cast your vote bearing all of it in mind.

Pax.

It already is! Haven’t you heard of “women’s health care” and “a woman’s right to choose” and “termination of the unwanted fetus”? I am sure that if we put our heads together, we could produce 100 euphemisms for the murder of innocent children.

Or " Unplanned pregnancy" “my body my choice” “reproductive freedom.”

The only way they can trick so many people into supporting them is to hide the reality of what they are actually supporting. They are about deception. Unfortunately, some of those doing the deceiving are Catholics on this forum.

CONVENTION EVENTS ON MONDAY ARE CANCELLED

The Republican National Committee released a statement late today saying that due to concerns related to Tropical Storm Isaac, Monday events in Tampa are canceled.

Party Chairman Reince Priebus said in the statement the convention will convene Monday and “immediately recess until Tuesday afternoon.”

Tropical Storm Isaac moved into Cuba on Saturday after causing flooding and several deaths in Haiti. Forecasters say it is on a track that would bring it toward Florida on Monday and Tuesday.

“war on women”, “choice” “keep gov’t &/or church out of the bedroom”, “freedom” “health care is between a woman and her doctor” “burden of unwanted pregnancy” “women’s issues”.

Actually, now we can call it a pro-abortion & pro infanticide-fest.

I am delighted. They seem to be taking a firmer stand on the moral issues that are critical to the Christian faith, namely, abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell destruction, so-called same sex marriage, etc…

Rubio: Opposing abortion isn’t about denying rights

Romney: “Two Lives at Stake in Abortion, I Care About Both”
In a new interview taped last week and aired on Fox News Sunday today, Mitt Romney expresses a clear pro-life position saying he opposes abortions and is concerned about protecting both mother and child who are adversely affected by them.
“And in regards to the issue of abortion, that is something where men and women have alternative views on that or different views. We look at an issue like that with great seriousness and sobriety and recognize that different people have reached different conclusions,” Romney said during the interview.
“But it’s not just men who think one way, women also in many cases are pro-life. There are two lives at stake: the unborn child and the mom, and I care for both of them,” he said.
Romney said it is inaccurate for the campaign of pro-abortion President Barack Obama to portray him as opposing contraception
“In regards to contraceptives, of course Republicans and myself in particular recognize that people should have a right to use contraceptives, there’s no validity whatsoever to the Obama effort to try and bring that up,” he said
Asked about the comments from Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin that sparked a national controversy over abortion and rape and have been condemned even by pro-life advocates as inaccurate on when women can become pregnant following rape, Romney said the remarks were “uninformed, outrageous, offensive” adding, “I think I’ve distanced myself from the thing he said as far as I possibly can.” Democrats have been aggressively trying to link Romney to the comments in an effort to falsely portray his pro-life views as extremist

Unfortunately many women don’t see it that way, even if they never plan to abort. A right is a right and human psychology takes over. True in business and religion as well.

I do like Rubio’s position on this, however. Seems that he “gets” it.

For some reason, I got to hear parts of the 04 Dem convention speeches on the radio… constant mentions of *embryonic *stem cell research, followed by *huge *cheering…

Poll: Obama, Romney neck-and-neck ahead of party conventions

Not equal. Romney is at ahead of Obama and they polled registered boaters, not likely voters. If you take in to consideration a likely democrat oversample as Washington post have done with their previous poll and undecided voters who usually vote against the incumbent

Actually, I would have thought that Romney would do well with registered boaters. 😃

Sorry, I couldn’t resist…typos can be fun.
