I was fortunate to hear about Artur Davis early on. He has an amazing bio, Harvard and Harvard Law School…magne cum laude, winner of the Moot competition. He is intelligent, eloquent and the complete antithesis of Obama. No blaming of others, no pandering to racial stereotypes. I predict a great future for him!
No predictions called for. He had been already in the House for 8 years, and ran and lost in the gubernatorial race in Alabama. Smart guy, for sure.

Democrat platform rejects all of the following which polls have shown majority of Americans support: parental consent for minors; 24 hour waiting period; stop taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood; ban late term abortion, partial birth abortion and sex selection abortion

60% democrats support mandatory waiting period. 59% support ban for partial birth abortion
Of course these sort of complaints come from people who vote Obama, because the Republicans are really not anti abortion enough! Or that the GOP doesn’t really care about the unborn. 🤷

I pray for conversions every day. I’m proud of the GOP giving a platform to guy like Rick Santorum who says it like it is on nationwide TV. 👍

Most.

"*Romney spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said *Monday that the GOP presidential ticket “opposes abortion with exceptions for rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother.”

The Romney campaign declined to comment Tuesday on the platform committee’s vote, beyond the distinction drawn by Priebus.

But Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts, who is defending his seat against Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren, called the no-exceptions abortion ban a “mistake” in a letter to Priebus, saying it “fails to recognize the views of pro-choice Republicans like myself.”*

To me, a Pro-life in all that I understand the movement to mean, voter. This removes any compulsion to vote. There is no exceptable “choice”.🤷
A president does not decide abortion law, they can sign pro life or pro abortion legislation and elect supreme court judges who support their abortion view. Obama has expanded abortion through the world through funding the UN population fund, which supports pa reframe or sterilisation that is involuntarily in China and coerced abortion, and the Mexico city policy. He has elected supreme court judges who oppose reversing roe vs wade. The next president will probably elect supreme court judges. If Obama is reelected he will get that choice and could push the reversal of roe vs wade for decades

Romney is committed to reversing roe vs wade. That is what the pro life movement has been fighting for nearly 40 years so his view on whether he is against all abortion or in cases of rape and incest is not the main factor. Romney has laid out his pro life agenda he would take as president to pro life advocate Pam Badgers

Dear Pam,

Thank you for contacting me about the important issue of abortion. I appreciate your interest in my campaign for president and would like to thank you for taking the time to share your views with me.

I am firmly pro-life. I believe that if abortion were limited to cases of rape, incest, and circumstances in which the mother’s life is in peril, we will have gone a long way to ending abortion in this country. I support the reversal of Roe v. Wade, because it is bad law and bad medicine. Roe was a misguided ruling that was a result of a small group of activist federal judges legislating from the bench.

I support the Hyde Amendment, which broadly bars the use of federal funds for abortions. And as president, I will end federal funding for abortion advocates like Planned Parenthood.

I will reinstate the Mexico City Policy to ensure that nongovernmental organizations that receive funding from America refrain from performing or promoting abortion services, as a method of family planning, in other countries. This includes ending American funding for any United Nations or other foreign assistance program that promotes or performs abortions on women around the world.

I will advocate for and support a Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to protect unborn children who are capable of feeling pain from abortion.

And perhaps most importantly, I will only appoint judges who adhere to the Constitution and the laws as they are written, not as they want them to be written.

As Governor of Massachusetts, I fought to promote abstinence education in the classroom, vetoed legislation to provide emergency contraception without a prescription, and vetoed embryonic cloning legislation. I am proud to say that each time I was presented with legislation on life issues, I sided with life. I remain strongly dedicated to that position.

I am running for president because I believe in America and know that our best days are still ahead. I believe that the principles that made America the leader of the world today—freedom, opportunity, and free enterprise to name just a few—are the very principles that will keep America the leader of the world tomorrow. These last few years have not been the best of times. But while we’ve lost a few years, we have not lost our way.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I encourage you to visit my website at www.MittRomney.com for updated information on this and other issues that may be of interest to you. I look forward to hearing from you in the future, and earning your support.

Sincerely

Mitt Romney

More people consider themselves pro life than pro abortion. Democrat platform is more extreme to most Americans views on abortion than republican platform

Rich-

Your posts on this thread are those of an incurious man with no thought to who/what the people on this forum value. You appear to be more interested in throwing you personal love of words and worldliness to the front rather than discussing what is being discussed.

I personally find the discussion helpful. And your posts to be awkward distractions. There are times I’ve had to put you on my ignore list because your posts were so irritatingly flippant and distracting.

If you are not interested, don’t bother posting. The thread is not about you.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I know you to be much deeper than that.:o
Coming from you, whom I very much respect, this is a very strong reprimand, and I apologize to you and to those who hold opposite to what I do. I shall be far more cautious on a thread like this to avoid irritating any posters and to be less flippant. Again, I do sincerely apologize.

And, exactly so - this is not about me or my brand of politics. 😊

Have you seen the Ohio story. They wanted to extend early voting hours for Republican Counties, but closing early voting hours in more Liberal Counties

Yes I’ve seen it. And I know in FL as well as in OH those who want to count more votes for the RNC nominee were talking about cutting back on voting times too and doing away with Sunday early voting. If I’m not mistaken many Obama supporters the last time voted in the evening or on weekends. Some Obama supporters voted after church. And not everyone desires to vote absentee, paying the postage, sending their ballot in the mail, or trying to hand deliver it themselves to their respective county election office.

More people consider themselves pro life than pro abortion.
 Actually from my experience in the real world even most pro choice people are not personally pro abortion and do not consider themselves as such. They might even vote for things like parental notification if given a chance as I myself have. Many actually might even describe themselves as pro life if they look at pro life as encompassing multiple issues. The problem for most Americans is when there is no choice or no exceptions as at the RNC.

Oh yes! Didn’t his speech bring tears especially when speaking of his daughter Bella. He used to host Bill Bennett’s show on Fridays so I heard about all of the challenges with Bella’s health. But most important is Rick’s focus on what Bella does for them and how she enhances their lives despite the many challenges. I’m seeing Rick Santorum as HHS Secretary 😃

I’m proud of the Republican platform and its strong stance on life issues. Orf course there are some Republicans who claim to be pro-choice. But in no way does that mitigate the militant anti-life platform or position of Obama.

Well you did say back there something about your brand of politics didn’t fit with the forum’s brand or the RNC brand discussed so favorably here.

Too many words.

Romney does not fit my definition of Prolife. There for, he may not have my vote. I wish the rest of the pro-life movement would follow my lead. It worked with second amendment rights, and the Democrats. When they saw that it was foolish, and was costing them the elections. They showed it the door. If the Republicans are swept from the field because Romney was pro choice. Lets be honest, thats what he is. Then they’ll renew their efforts to vet prolife candidates.

Reference Obama, What do I care what he does?🤷

Because voting 3rd party may insure his re-election, and as “bad” as Romney is on the life issues, he looks like Mother Teresa compared to President Obama.

Amen Brother

No doubt the Democrats will ignore and take for granted the mindless loyalty of the minorities that give it undying devotion.
I love how we think all minorities think the same. 😉 But honestly I think they can have different opinion among each other.
…in spite of the evidence that the DNC does nothing to help them.
Actually they have. Thus the famous Gov. Projects. And free accessible Universal Healthcare. Which is kinda for everyone. civil rights & voting acts passed under LBJ
minimum wage act kennedy and LBJ
fair housing act LBJ

Wouldn’t that be wonderful! It would get the nastiness of Kathleen Sebelius out of our lives, the life-hating witch.

Aaw, Juliane, why don’t you tell us how you really feel about her? 😃

And, didn’t you mis-spell that last word? 😉

I wouldn’t say this.

I personally think they’re both half-wits. But now it comes down to the lesser of two evils. Pres. Obama wants to force Abortion and Contraception on the Catholic Church. While Gov. Romney will by no means compromise. We need someone who will be willing to compromise.

If the Government can work together than good stuff happens. As we seen with the Clinton administration. Besides his lack of morality. Pres. Clinton was willing to compromise with the Republicans in the congress. And we saw amazing stuff. i.e. Unemployment being at it’s lowest rate in 35 years, the Debt was under 5 trillion and it was also under our GDP. And the debt was going down not up.

Are you watching the Videos?

I mean I can’t have this discussion if you’re not gonna work with me
I am not watching MSNBC. I assume you have, what are counties that you allege republicans have extended hours?

And yet, Clinton was pro-abortion.

I know that I keep saying this, but I do because it needs saying:

you can not collect “government” benefits if you are dead.
