MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell said Wednesday that a reference to President Obama’s golfing in Sen. Mitch McConnell’s RNC speech is an attempt to link the president to Tiger Woods and his “lifestyle”:
Republican speakers referencing Obama & Chicago are racists:
Chris Matthews says:
“They keep saying Chicago by the way, have you noticed? They keep saying Chicago. That’s another thing that sends that message – this guy’s **helping the poor people in the bad **neighborhoods, screwing us in the ‘burbs.”
Except the Republican’s are NOT saying the poor have been helped by Obama. They are arguing that the poor have been harmed by years of liberal policies.
I agree. He’s just the Limbaugh of the Left- a bit less grating perhaps- but still an ideologue.Thats chris mathews for ya. Man… pretty much anything he says should be flushed down the toilet… yeesh.
That is the operative point.the thrust of Ryan’s argument is not in any way dependent on the date of the plant’s closing
In fact, it can be readily argued that the chronology enhances the point. Why show up and make such a statement if the plant was already slated to be closed?
BTW - I worked for some years in the Automotive industry for a restructuring advisory firm. I’ve seen first hand the devastation wrought throughout the rust belt as plants have been shuttered, particularly in recent years. It is simply cruel to give such false hope to people who have very few other places to turn for comparable work in many such cases (the local Walmart doesn’t qualify), including the Janesville plant.
I guess we can say Obama’s “belief,” like so many others of his, was wrong.F
By the way, I believe is precisely that…a belief, not a promise.

although in fairness he was drooling over Condoleezza Rice’s speech, and rather boisterously complimentaryI agree. He’s just the Limbaugh of the Left- a bit less grating perhaps- but still an ideologue.
finds this promise from Barack Obama in June 2008, after the notice went out that the plant would shut down over the next several months, emphasis mine:BuzzFeed’s Andrew Kaczynski
so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs in Wisconsin and all across America.” Source: media.gazettextra.com / via:uppermichiganssource.com“Reports that the GM plant I visited in Janesville may shut down sooner than expected are a painful reminder of the tough economic times facing working families across this country. This news is also a reminder that Washington needs to finally live up to its promise to help our automakers compete in our global economy. As president, I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville
One difference, Matthews claims to be a newsman, Limbaugh is an entertainer.I agree. He’s just the Limbaugh of the Left- a bit less grating perhaps- but still an ideologue.

Did he get the thrill up his leg this time??although in fairness he was drooling over Condoleezza Rice’s speech, and rather boisterously complimentary
:bigyikes::bigyikes::bigyikes:and** Kathleen Sebelius, the Catholic** partnering with Obama on his attack on religious freedom - shows that you have no real bright, fresh young leaders with new ideas - just Obama, Biden, the Clintons and a bunch of party hacks.
their policies create more poor - compassionate indeed.
Likely reserved for Obama alone, but he did not go so far as to say. That said, his reaction to the Rice speech was rather interesting, all things considered.Did he get the thrill up his leg this time??
Another difference, Limbaugh has more intelligence in his big toe than Matthews could ever dream of having in his entire brain. One difference, Matthews claims to be a newsman, Limbaugh is an entertainer.
Well, Rice doesn’t display the anti-intellectualism so popular in the Right at the moment.although in fairness he was drooling over Condoleezza Rice’s speech, and rather boisterously complimentary
Crock. Paul Ryan is an anti-intellectual? Please. What would that make Biden?Well, Rice doesn’t display the anti-intellectualism so popular in the Right at the moment.
Many find this refreshing.
No comment there.Another difference, Limbaugh has more intelligence in his big toe than Matthews could ever dream of having in his entire brain.
Biden is a bit goofy.Crock. Paul Ryan is an anti-intellectual? Please. What would that make Biden?![]()

Somewhere, someplace Bennie Hill just got a strange chill up and down his spine and feels somehow offended.Benny Hill?
You may be right, as there certainly was a genius to his comedy. Eternal memory, Benny!Somewhere, someplace Bennie Hill just got a strange chill up and down his spine and feels somehow offended.
