They absolutely do pay attention. Heck, they care so much about their work that they have 6 other guys watching to make sure that they do it right.šŸ™‚
In Illinois that translates to inmates doing the work and guards watching them. šŸ™‚

I’ve listened to Rush for years. I’ve never heard anything of the sort. Do you have an audio
link?

An audio link?

I don’t know how to do that? It’s on the above link.

I have no interest in making stuff up. I’m sure it’s available if one of us pokes around.

Then it shows how much people value their vote, that they won’t cough up a measly 45 cents? How much is your vote worth to you? To me, I’d gladly pay the 45 cents because over a billion people do not have this right.

Let’s be realistic, they have 35 days to vote, and under Ohio law your employer must allow you to take leave to vote. So nobody is restricting their hours, if they cannot be bothered to mail in absentee or inform their employer that they are going to vote and vote during the week…then that’s too bad. But please spare me the bleeding heart for people who only voted because the church decided to bus them in and give them a free meal. If those ā€œworking poorā€ as the Democrat-Propaganda-Establishment likes to call them can’t be bothered to vote on their own time…should we force 'em?

And no we should not be encouraging more people to vote, democracy leads only to anarchy and thus tyranny, but that’s a philosophical discussion.
I paid $1.35 to mail my primary ballot in last month. It was only for state and local and Congressional and US Senate. Not a lot of contested races in the primary. The Nov ballot with the RNC and DNC nominees, 3rd parties, along with all the other contested races, I’m thinking will have more pages to it. Of course I also took the risk my ballot would be delivered and undamaged and hopefully counted. Like I explained to you, to others their vote is so valuable and cherished they may prefer casting it in person. And not be forced to mail it in or approach their employer and have to ask for a dispensation and permission from their employer to vote. Maybe some even just prefer after they’ve prayed over it at Sunday church services, to then go and heed their call to vote. But since you don’t seem to like the idea of more people voting there’s no use for me continuing the discussion with you.

These were from politicians

Racism is disgusting from anybody
Heavens, can’t believe they forgot Slow Joe’s comment about Obama…

I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man."

That’s about as racist as it gets…but of course the MSM just blew it off…

Oregon is vote by mail ONLY. So we are forced to mail in our ballots and hope they aren’t lost, ripped, stolen or forged. There are some drop boxes in libraries and other official buildings but we have no opportunity to go to the polls and vote.

No one has claimed this puts an inordinate burden upon the poor.

As to the price of postage…have you paid for gas lately? I suspect it’s less expensive to mail them than drive to the polls.

As to busing people to the polls…interesting a church gets involved there. But in Washington they go further…they dig up dead people and they vote too! Talk about inclusive…

What about Bill Clinton’s remark to Teddy Kennedy about Obama, ā€œA few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.ā€

That quote just takes one’s breath away. It is SO over the top, I just can’t understand how he could say that and not have to back pedal to save face, but Democrats get treated with kid gloves as we all know. Come on you libs out there, at least admit it!

You’ve been raised in a very genteel atmosphere if that’s ā€œas racist as it gets.ā€ There are phrases using the ā€œn wordā€ that are a bit more racist than you seem to be used to.

Well you obviously travel in different circles than me. No one I know uses that phrase or terminology. Perhaps I need to listen to rap music to open my mind a bit.

Yes, we obviously do. Men, whether or not they use such terms personally, are generally exposed to cruder language, whether racist, scatalogical, or sexual, than are women.

And, don’t listen to rap, it’s all garbage, and certainly has no mind opening value.

Some rap is awesome, not the mainstream stuff. Their is also Catholic rap

I’m glad all the people of Oregon are comfortable with mail-in only. I could walk to my polling place so gas isn’t an issue.

Btw just incase by bringing up gas you in a round about way were trying to blame Obama on gas prices, I’ll assume when prices came down not long ago that you were giving him credit.

We have mail-in ballots in Washington, but I always drive mine in to the drop off area. I trust that more than the US Postal Service. šŸ˜›

Short term fluctuations up or down are based on short term situations. Hurricane in the Gulf, prices up. Unrest in the Middle East, prices up. Lower demand, prices down.

I do blame Obama for higher energy costs. He is clearly against below ground energy sources and has made it clear with policies, appointments and executive orders. I think the price of gas was about half of it’s current rate when he was sworn into office.

Oh and BTW we are NOT comfortable with mail in ballots. Like my fellow PNW resident, I generally drop mine off…and I park a long way away so they don’t see my car
