He chose pro-life Catholic Paul Ryan for VP. He chose Robert Bork to advise on judicial appointments. You are ignoring facts.Perhaps, but what you said is a matter of faith

Really, what about his announced positions on rape, incest and contraception?You are ignoring facts.
As the saying goes, I resemble that remark. It frankly fries my cheese to hear people playing modern day Jobs…curse God and die…complaining and whining and wailing that the perfect candidate with the perfect and consistent record of XY or Z does not exist. Therefore they will take their toys and go home.I have no problem with a politician who flips - as long as he flips the right way. People can change. I believe Romney has.

The Catholic Church opposes all abortions!!!
Even The Church agrees that in the case of ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, where neither the mother or baby can survive, it is moral to remove the offending organ ie - the fallopian tube:
"However, if medical treatment or surgical operation, necessary to save a mother’s life, is applied to her organism (though the child’s death would, or at least might, follow as a regretted but unavoidable consequence), it should not be maintained that the fetal life is thereby directly attacked. Moralists agree that we are not always prohibited from doing what is lawful in itself, though evil consequences may follow which we do not desire. The good effects of our acts are then directly intended, and the regretted evil consequences are reluctantly permitted to follow because we cannot avoid them. The evil thus permitted is said to be indirectly intended. It is not imputed to us provided four conditions are verified, namely:
That we do not wish the evil effects, but make all reasonable efforts to avoid them;
That the immediate effect be good in itself;
That the evil is not made a means to obtain the good effect; for this would be to do evil that good might come of it — a procedure never allowed;
That the good effect be as important at least as the evil effect.
All four conditions may be verified in treating or operating on a woman with child. The death of the child is not intended, and every reasonable precaution is taken to save its life; the immediate effect intended, the mother’s life, is good — no harm is done to the child in order to save the mother — the saving of the mother’s life is in itself as good as the saving of the child’s life. "

With due respect, it seems like those who are so willing to sacrifice a woman’s life even though the child would die regardless are usually men
I do not think we will ever be successful in repealling Roe vs Wade as long as Republicans have a no exception plank
The case you give is not considered abortion.With due respect, it seems like those who are so willing to sacrifice a woman’s life even though the child would die regardless are usually men

Since I was your other annoying liberal give me a moment to check the topic.Sorry Rich, forgot which annoying liberal I was replying to.

I’ll take 95% pro-life over 100% pro-abortion. How about you, oldcelt?Really, what about his announced positions on rape, incest and contraception?
BTW, wait until the Democratic Convention…talk about Borked.

I agree with your agreement!Finally watched Romney’s speech…a home run IMNSHO. Well written, well delivered and I agree with every word of it.
You know he hit paydirt with the squeals and howls in response! Hilarious! Loved the point that the Dems wanted an Hispanic for a prime time speech so they had to find a mayor rather than being able to showcase a governor or Congressman.NBC’s Chuck Todd: ‘Democrats Wish They Had The Diversity’ Of The GOP

Hemp was a major agricultural and industrial product for hundreds of years here. This stupid “war on drugs” has prevented a major, profitable, ecologically friendly, and nutritionally benefitial product to go unused. Thanks Nixon. Moron.Seriously, the eco-friendly aspects of hemp make it a crime that it’s not being used. Among other things, it can be used for paper, and it uses a lot less water than trees. And water is going to be a bigger and bigger issue in the future.
What were the three takeaways from Romney’s speech? Three definitive, well articulated, and clearly communicated things that we can expect from a Romney Presidency?Finally watched Romney’s speech…a home run IMNSHO. Well written, well delivered and I agree with every word of it.
Regarding Cardinal Dolan’s benediction. I hope he uses the same prayer, word-for-word, with the exception of the candidate’s names. He touched on everything important - our freedoms including religious freedom, the unborn to the elderly, marriage and family, immigrants past and present, our military, the poor and less fortunate, etc. It was an excellent, non-partisan benediction. Many Democrats will hate it, of course, but I don’t see a reason for him to tailor the speech any differently. He was praying for America.
Clint Eastwood knew what he was doing. The guy has made how many movies in the past year or two? Five?
I don’t think Romney is all that pro-life but I keep seeing these Obama ads suggesting that Romney is an anti abortion extremist. The more of these ads I see, the better Romney looks.
Isn’t that hilarious…Romney the extremist! We wish he were a little MORE extreme sometimes. I think it’s clear that his speech was not aimed at the base but to counter these very arguments before the Democrats really make the push about Romney the Right Wingnut which is laughable to those who know him and will be unpersuasive to those who are just getting acquainted. He did look pretty scary holding the grandchild…Clint Eastwood knew what he was doing. The guy has made how many movies in the past year or two? Five?

So…none of this resonated with you?What were the three takeaways from Romney’s speech? Three definitive, well articulated, and clearly communicated things that we can expect from a Romney Presidency?
What I got out of it.
Romney is a nice guy who loves his family.
Romney admired his father.
Romney is a man of strong faith.
All great points. Nothing that inspired me to vote for him.
First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.
Second, we will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.
Third, we will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.
Fourth, to assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish as have those in Greece, we will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.
And fifth, we will champion SMALL businesses, America’s engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare by repealing and replacing Obamacare.
Today, women are more likely than men to start a business. They need a president who respects and understands what they do.
And let me make this very clear – unlike President Obama, I will not raise taxes on the middle class.
As president, I will protect the sanctity of life. I will honor the institution of marriage. And I will guarantee America’s first liberty: the freedom of religion.
President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet. MY promise…is to help you and your family.
