Ron Paul also has significantly more donations from active duty military than all other candidates combined - more than Obama as well - so why don’t we give the military the leader they want, and make Ron Paul the Commander in Chief as well?

Without meaning to upset any citizens of the US on here, I have to say that ALL the potential candidates for president of the USA - including the current incumbent - scare me witless for all sorts of different reasons, be they military tub-thumping, approval of abortion, etc.

Were I a US citizen I don’t think I’d be happy voting for any of them. I’d probably pick one (the least worst!), but I’d be holding my nose as I cast my vote, that’s for sure.

What scares me much more is Obama funding planned parenthood for unborn babies die, homosexuality being pushed as the norm, record poverty levels and food stamp usage by the administration.

 Paul IS unelectable. The reason is his isolationist foreign policy views. If anything has surprised me during the past decade, it's that so many people insist the world IS as they want it to be. There were many millions in the 1930's who thought the same way. You'd think we'd have learned.

Romney was aiming at contrasting his support of the military with Obama’s cutting of funds for defense, not taking into account that Obama does not intend to cut the fiber of the military, only the unnecessary excess. It’s the usual rallying cry by Republicans that the Democrats are weak in matters of defense, and it doesn’t stand up in the case of Obama or Clinton, let alone FDR, Truman, Kennedy, or Johnson.

However, did you hear Paul’s speech compared to Romney’s? Paul seems to want to do away with the military altogether: that sounds a bit scary as well. However, he did differentiate between support for the military and for the Pentagon war effort. On the other hand, Paul seems to be speaking from the heart and mind, whereas Romney is, as so often the case, parroting cliches and telling his listeners what they want to hear, such as his desire to return our country to a shining city on a hill. A pure, unadulterated pep talk with little substance, perhaps fitting for the occasion.

Well, here is a Catholic, American voice:

I come from a family that can trace its military service to the War Between the States. My great-grandfathers served, my grand-uncles served, my father served, I served, my daughter and a son serve now, I expect that my grandchildren may serve.

I am not obsessed with world military power. I am obsessed with the safety of my own country. As we said in the Strategic Air Command, “Peace is our Profession.”

Regarding the original poster: Why are you worried about our politics in our country? I am not commenting on the politics in your country…
