and it’s illegal to produce child pornography.
And this is not? Having sexualized pictures of minors has landed people in jail.
It idoes not contain material that meet the description of 18 U.S.C. §2252. That’s not to say that it isn’t disturbing though.

I know that one film clip they keep showing seems way over the line.

What are people’s gut reactions? I get their explanation back, that they claim they are exposing this exploitation of children.

This reminds me some of gymnasts. Okay, our American girls are relatively and reasonably mature but there were all kinds of questions about the Chinese gymnasts in 2008. Their age, training and so forth.

Are you advertising this movie?
I am wondering the same thing with all these threads. I have never heard of this before here. I decided to watch the trailer. Fortunately, it seems like such a chick flick and teen flick, I could care less. Maybe it is supposed to be like aversion therapy where all the mush is enough to make most men lose their lunch.

The point is, keep mentioning and viewership will skyrocket.

I stopped watching Netflix a few years ago. Sounds like I haven’t missed anything. Disturbing that Netflix would show such a program on young girls. It certainly appears to have many upset, and if what is reported is true, understandably upset.

In a different CAG subforum there was a related discussion. It was centered on the CardiB and Megan Thee Stallion video WAP expressing concerns that young girls may see the video and it shape their behaviour and perception on what is okay. From the NPR interview with the creator, it sounds like the movie was motivated by similar concerns. Only instead of a music video being the source of the concerning images, it is social media.

I think this is a valid concern. Technically, children below a certain age are not supposed to have social media accounts on many services according to a reading of the ToS. But we know that they do. Internet access in general opens them to potentially all types of objectionable imagery.
