**Novena to St. Lucy
First Day

O holy Virgin and Martyr, St. Lucy, whose innocent life was like a host offered to the true God, you suffered for His divine love the most cruel tortures invented by tyrants. Inspire me, my dear saint, to imitate your holy piety that I may offer to the Lord the little sacrifices, sufferings, and persecutions that I endure. Help me obtain the grace that I ask during this novena for the glory of God: perfect eyesight for odiambo. Amen.

Daily Prayer

Relying on your goodness, O God, we humbly ask you, through the intercession of St. Lucy, Virgin and Martyr, to give perfect vision to our eyes, that they may serve for your greater honor and glory. St. Lucy, hear our prayers and obtain our petitions. Amen.

Novena to St. Lucy

Second Day

O Virgin and Martyr, St. Lucy, white rose of charity, you showed perfect virtue when you went to Catania in order to pray before the tomb of St. Agatha for the health of your sickly mother. The holy St. Agatha appeared to you and complained that you did not need her intercession, and that you yourself could pray to God and He would listen to you. When you were still alive, dear St. Lucy, our Savior already regarded you as His special child. Now in heaven, you are more powerful still. Help us obtain the grace we are asking during this novena: perfect eyesight for odiambo. Amen.

Novena to St. Lucy

Third Day

O humble Virgin and Martyr, St. Lucy, you gave away your money and other riches to the poor. In response to the healing of your mother, you gave up everything, even your beautiful clothes. You were born rich but found poverty with Jesus your only wealth. Help us to share the little resources we have for the poor and the needy of our country. May our hearts become fertile grounds for virtues. May we learn to share until it pains us and may your example lead us to be more generous and helpful. Amen.

Fourth Day

O penitent Virgin and Martyr, St. Lucy, you gave heavenly flowers during your brief life on earth. Your soul shone resplendently through the virtue of faith as seen in your endless fasting, abstinence, and vigils. O fragrant rose, you were God’s most beautiful flower as you lived simply within a Roman society, famous for its gluttony and sensuality. I promise that I will follow you on your path. I will not expose myself to the abuses of consumerism and fashion. I will live a simple life with my wants and needs in control. Intercede before the Lord for my petition and I will glorify your name forever. Amen.

Novena to St. Lucy

Fifth Day

O chaste Virgin and Martyr, you were a white flower of purity that attracted the devil and his minions. The Roman governor exposed you to a place of prostitution to bend your will, but your Spouse Jesus intervened and saved you from evil men who wanted to destroy your purity. Intercede for me, my dear saint, that I, too, may value my chastity as a gift from God, that in all temptations against purity, Jesus will always save me. I ask you to bring my petition to Jesus during this novena. Amen.
