Research Shows Planned Parenthood Expands Targeting Minorities as it Spurns Racist Founder

Susan Willke EnouenSusan Willke Enouen|Posted: Sep 23, 2020

New research shows that Planned Parenthood has located a stunning 86 percent of its abortion facilities in or near minority neighborhoods in the 25 U.S. counties with the most abortions.

These 25 counties contain 19 percent of the U.S. population and are home to 28 percent of the U.S. black population and 37 percent of the U.S. Hispanic/Latino population. In 12 of these counties, Blacks and Hispanics/Latinos are more than 50 percent of the population. In contrast, blacks are only 12.6 percent of the U.S. population and Hispanics and Latinos are 16.3 percent.

Although these 25 reflect just 1 percent of all U.S. counties, they accounted for 30 percent of all abortions in the U.S. in 2014. According to the Guttmacher Institute, over 275,000 pre-born babies were killed by abortion in these counties that year.
Wow, I really want to hear Democrats accuse others of racism.

Planned Parenthood launched two voter guides on Thursday that seek to highlight the reproductive rights records of candidates nationwide and target young voters and voters of color, as part of a campaign to mobilize voters in the midst of a Supreme Court vacancy fight that could have profound implications on the future of abortion rights.

The guides have been in the works since earlier this year, Amanda Matos, Planned Parenthood Director of Constituency Campaigns, told CNN.

Show their reproductive records? Like conceived two girls and a boy, bore a son and a daughter, contracepted for 8 years straight? Those kind of records?

This is terrible.

Planned Parenthood has long targeted minorities, when will the Democrats condemn this racism?

If PP embraces Sanger then it is racist and if it spurns Sanger it is shilling for minorities? I see your intent in this thread.

My intent? What’s the Democrats’ intent? Infanticide? Taxpayer funded abortions? Disproportional abortions on minority communities?

My intent is pro-life. What Catholic votes for Planned Parenthood?

This is nothing off of the mainstream for Democrats.

Once again— Affluent women do NOT need a PP located in their neighborhoods. They can go to their regular doctor and obtain an abortion when ever they need one. The only difference is that their doctors call them D & C’s instead of abortion.

Nobody needs a Planned Parenthood located in her neighborhood.

The US Government has a program called Federally Qualified Health Centers. These are clinics where women and men can get all their health care needs attended to, and they take Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay, with sliding scales based on income.

FQHCs provide “family planning” services and women’s health, but they do not provide abortions.

There is a FQHC near everyone in these United States. It is a good program. Abby Johnson, among others, recommends them.

Is PP’s alleged targeting more correlated to race than poverty?

Oh, once again, the rate of white women are much, much lower than that of blacks. It’s also lower than Hispanics.

So, there goes that theory. the US would actually have a fairly low abortion rate if it were just the rate with white women.

So, yes, these clinics make abortion more available.

It’d be nice to have some data backing up one’s assertions.

This is really why Planned Parenthood needs to be defunded.

I’m not sure. But I’m glad to see the Right finally acknowledge that systemic racism does indeed exist. Planned Parenthood is the perfect example.

I’m not sure I understand the phrasing of your question, but here is the data indicating that PP locates itself primarily in minority neighborhoods. https://s27575.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Top-25-Counties-Online-Stat-Sheet.pdf

This is likely tied to poverty rates, as well as the general issues with family life that accompany poverty. It would be interesting to see abortion rates considered against both income and ethnicity.

Why are you saying the Right??? Looks like this is totally backed by the Left. Or maybe you mean the Left does not recognize Systemic racism.

The Democratic party is totally saturated with Planned Parenthood, almost close to being the same or at least, highly influential.

One Senator, Tina Smith, former Planned Parnethood director. Staffs for Senators and Representatives have plenty of former workers from Planned Parenthood. Maybe in a place or two, Republicans do too.

It’s also very well connected to behavior, one’s conduct. Irresponsibility helps fuel the phenomenon. Hence, Christian values are needed.

Somehow the atheistic USSR had high rates, even today, Cuba, Vietnam, China have high rates.

And in the US, adoption is available.

Some abortion activists do not like adoption.

Because it’s most often conservatives who deny the existence of systemic racism.

Mentioning Planned Parenthood usually, (but not always), helps them reconsider that claim.
So in turn, we can assign “systemic racism” to the left since they are big supporters, in general, of Planned Parenthood. They would be the racists by this logic? I do think they are. They back abortion law, they back Planned Parenthood.

Maybe. I agree that hypothetically a chaste nation that only ever had marital sex would maybe need a lot less abortions, but I’m not sure that any such society as ever existed. In Christian England there were relatively high rates of out of wedlock births in the 18th and 19th centuries among the urban working class, and basically very little in the way of support for the women that this happened to. Maybe pre-urbanisation things were different, but certainly not afterwards. Culture is overrated as a phenomenon.

I can’t speak for all those countries, but abortion was illegal in the USSR from 1936-1955. It was only in the later half of the 20th century that it became prolific.

This also appears to correlate with poverty rates. I haven’t seen that abortion is more strongly correlated to race than poverty.

The Democrat party makes sure Planned Parenthood is funded, a high percentage ofsupport Planned Parenthood. The Kavanaugh fiasco showed how the left tried to block his confirmation to the Supreme Court. And before that Bork, maybe Clarence Thomas too. A high percent of the Democrats support PP and it is not hidden, PP openly advertises how “reproductive rights” are endangered by Republicans, Planned Parenthood campaigns heavily against Republicans.

I wonder if it is actually quite a money making racket, all signs point that way.

So, if it is both at fault, you have one party that really supports Planned Parenthood and in turn, I think this reflects morals and hurts their trustworthiness.

Late Term abortions, Partial Birth Abortions, fighting for those rights even against individual states, even as mentioned, now delving into infanticide, these are not the Republicans supporting this. If one can not see that, perhaps, they could reflect on their own biases.

Fighting against pregnancy crisis centers, the list goes on and on.

Dreadful. Who would do that?I
