The correct answer, of course, is that it only takes one, if the bulb is willing to change. But let me throw out this unasked question, and see if anyone wants to take a swing.

Then why or how does the now mainstream mental health profession find justification in precluding therapy to help minimize or re-orient a patient who wishes to resolve unwanted same sex attraction, e.g., in a single person who wants said therapy to help live out a personal moral belief, or a married person to help maintain an accepted family value?

Isn’t your statement a contradiction to the guideline that APA and related professionals for its practitioners to follow, that helping such a patient in the direction of his/her choosing would be unethical? Not only that, as you said above, the practitioner would not get paid by the insurance company!

I truly feel sorry for any gay teen growing up in our society today. I can’t think of any person in our society that is being more neglected to the ravages of Satan and evil with no helping hand to offer support then a young gay teen is.

Um, yea, okay. I thought that was the black community. Oh wait, I thought that was women. Oh wait, I thought was illegal immigrants. What if you’re black, gay and a woman? That’s the jackpot right there. Oh wait . . .

That is why I asked about the definition of health
and disease. These professional political groups are not
simply scientific organizations.
