Wow, he and his wife were married 63 years when she died in
2007!!
May God grant him eternal rest.
 
The article didn’t mention his appearance in and narration of a documentary about Fatima. He was a true gentleman and a fine actor. God rest his soul and grant him eternal bliss.
 
This is sad news indeed. First Fr. Neuhaus and now Ricardo Montalban. Ricardo Montalban came to Laredo in the 1970s, at the height of his career, to accept the LULAC Senor Internacional award. He was very humble and gracous about it, so my dad told me. I was a child when it happened, but, I remember how nice he was along the parade route as he waved to everyone.
 
He was also a guest on Catholic Answers Live. When they fix the problem with downloading archives, you should be able to listen to it from this page.

I also posted about him once. One of my favorite quotes from that radio episode:“In Mexico, I used to go to Communion maybe once or twice a year, and I confess my sins and I felt so good and clean. And when I would go to Communion, and I have tears in my eyes, of emotion. And now, you know, I go to mass and Communion every Sunday, and now I go and I don’t feel anything. ‘Well, that’s good,’ [the priest said to me]. ‘Now you’re a Catholic of conviction. Before you were a Catholic of emotion which goes up and down according to your mood.’”
God, please accept this child of Yours into Your eternal banquet of joy immediately and mercifully. Comfort all those who mourn this passing. Mary, pray with us. Amen. :gopray2:
 
I did a quick search but could not find a wonderful open letter he wrote to his children about his God-given role as their father. It was beautiful – maybe 50 years ago?

Rest in peace, my favorite of all of the Star Trek villians. Such a wonderful and gracious man, and wow!! His pecs on Star Trek TWOK are IMPRESSIVE!! :eek: 😃

I was saddened to hear of Ricardo Montalban’s passing. I liked his acting & the sound of his voice. He seemed such a gracious person. A strong Catholic & married 63 years. That’s awesome. He was so convincing in a commercial which led me to buy a Chrysler Cordoba in 1978 or '79…“soft corinthian leather!” You can watch it on Youtube. May he rest in peace.

One quote that I’ve always remembered that Ricardo Montalban uttered (and I forget which of the early talk shows it was) was this: “El hombre que habla dos lenguas vale por dos hombres.” (in English: “The man who speaks two languages is worth two men.”)

I used to watch Fantasy Island-he was SO COOL in his role as Mr. Roarke.

I have two videos-on Fatima and on Betania [Venezuela]-where he was the narrator. What a neat voice he had!

And of course, the commercials for the Chrysler Cordoba’s ‘soft Corinthian leather’…

I agree. That quote made an impression on me. The other one was from Jimmy Akin, who reminded me that when you stand before God, your “feelings don’t count.” :o
 
Did anyone see the piece that Raymond Arroyo did on the World Over last night? He replayed a segment from an interview with Ricardo Montalban in 1998 where Montalban discussed abortion. It was so simply and eloquently stated.🙂 He asked the question “When did I become I?” Another great Catholic celebrity has died. May his soul rest in peace.
 
Yep, I watched the show too. I am very sad that we have lost
Three great champions of the Catholic faith in the last few
weeks. I hope the Lord is sending or motivating other priests and
lay people to help us continue the battle.
