Years ago, I did a lot of backpacking…bathing in a stream was one of life’s true pleasures…

Have you ever lived in a tent for the summer?

No…my younger brother did many times…he’d come downstairs, converse, watch television, go back to bed, and sleep through the whole thing.

Have you ever done a mile-swim?
 
I like to think I’m doing God’s work on the parish RCIA team…other than that, …no…

Have you ever rolled your own cigarettes?
 
A couple of times. I have no talent for it, so I tube now. 🚬

I have half a can of tobacco left and enough tubes to use it up, then I’m done. It costs twice as much to smoke where we’re moving to than it does where we live now, and I simply can’t justify the expense.

No. I’ve never been south of the US-Mexican border.

No, and I can’t imagine it ever happening…my wife of 40+ years worked in food service most of her life…she’s a great cook and a world-class baker, and I’m spoiled. She also enjoys eating out, and I can’t imagine going anywhere to eat without her.

Have you ever had a long conversation with a ‘wrong number’?
 
No. I hate talking on the phone so I’m not going to spend more time than absolutely needed doing so, regardless of who’s on the other end.

Have you ever had your arm in a sling?
 
My right arm is in a sling now…I had a reverse total shoulder replacement on Nov 4…

Have you ever tried sushi?
 
I eat sushi on a regular basis, having tried it for the first time about 30 years ago. 🍣

Thank you, my friend…I am right-handed…the left shoulder was replaced three years ago.

No, I’ve never hitchhiked…in my younger, single days, I picked up hitchhikers at night, and pretended to be drunk…most of them didn’t ride very far…

Have you ever shown up for a meeting, only to find that it had been cancelled?
 
No, but that’s happened to me for all sorts of other activities.

Have you ever fallen asleep in a meeting?
