Return of Christ set to May 21st 2011

Because the Bible quite clearly says no one “knows the day or the hour”, therefore anyone who claims to know the day or hour is, while not necessarily a nutcase, wrong.

The traditional Christian belief is that the End will come on God’s time and he won’t give anyone any advance warning other than what has already been given.

I know Many protestants spend much time looking for signs in the world and in the headlines and anxiously await the tribulation because it will inaugurate the so called rapture and millennium. but setting a date for Christ’s return is way off specially when Jesus clearly teaches that His return will be like a thief in the night and only God the Father knows that day!

I guess I shouldn’t worry about painting the house before summer.
 
I’m going to quit paying into my CALSTRS pension, leave the classroom, go to the Guitar Center and buy $10,000 worth of guitars and play like Stevie Ray Vaughn, man. I have nothing to lose! The end is coming soon baby! 😛

Just as long as there’s no Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man or Gozer or Zule! 😛

When people put signs and notices like that out, you have to see any such material as not in the Holy Spirit…but the contrary to cause people undue anxiety.

Today has enough problems.

Me, too…I get depressed over everything that’s going on.

I also say, ‘Please, Lord, come SOON!’

It’s madness to try to predict when Our Lord will come again. I go by what HE says: ‘Only the Father knows’…not by mortal men’s words on a billboard.

I just want to be ready when He DOES come!
 
Far too soon. A number of Catholic prophecies have to be fulfilled first, and that date would not be sufficient time for them to be.
 
Date-setting of this sort has never yielded nothing for failboating. 😃

What? I agree that it’s a bunch of rubbish… but how did you come to the conclusion that 5-21-2011 equals 12-25-2011? It’s not even the same amount of numbers…

These people are just capitalizing off the Second Coming. The thing I really don’t understand is this: What is so difficult to accept about the idea that no one knows when Christ will return? But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone. (Matthew 24:36) It’s pretty clear. It doesn’t take a whole lot of interpretation. Personally, I don’t particularly want to know the day the world will end…
 
Well, they have part right, He is coming. And while we may or may not see it, it would be wise to prepare the way for Him in your family. One or more someday, somewhere will see the second coming of Christ. There is no doubt about that.

God has sent Prophets since day one, and in the last century and in this one. The only question is “will you listen to them” thus God? Just as Jesus completed much OT prophecy, so to will the rest be completed. :eek:
 
For Freethinker83: You have heard the explanation from within Christian Scripture. As a former atheist, I think I can also give an answer that will be more accessible to you. A number of studies have been done on predictions. I saw one recently on predictions by scientists during the 1930’s on what life would be like now. The accuracy rate was way low, though some things stood out, like the idea of computers. This is impressive only if one does not know that there were already mechanical computers at the time. so electrifying them was not a great stretch. “Seers” such as Jean Dixon have had their predictions evaluated and they also are wrong almost always. Dixon was celebrated for her warning of something happening to Kennedy on his trip to Texas. Considering that he was elected by a very small margin, that the country was in racial turmoil, and that he was going into an area that was strongly opposed to his politics, again we do not have much of a stretch to see that he might be at risk. So is it any wonder that we look on this prediction of a Second Coming with a somewhat jaundiced eye?

The Catholic Church has prophecied concerning the return of Jesus? What are they and where can I find them?
 
No doubt about it Jesus is comming back! When? **No one knows! ** I guess the only good thing about these Bill Boards…is that just maybe it will cause some people to stop, think, and re-look their lives over…and just maybe, Maybe, it will lead them back to a Chirstian life.

Other than that I think the Statements and the Claims of the Date…Are Just a guess. No one has that information, to know forsure.

I guess sooner or later…someone might Guess the Date…🙂 After all we do know that one day Jesus will come back…so sooner or later it will fall on Some Date…But there is no way Anyone will know ahead of time.

I just pray that these kinds of Bill Boards do some sort of Good. Maybe they will “touch” peoples hearts and minds and turn them back to God.
